Verify your store on the Business Platform

The Ministry of Commerce requires online stores to be verified on the Business Platform of the Saudi Business Center. Verification ties your store to your commercial registration or freelance document and to your bank account, so customers know who they're buying from. You apply on the Business Platform, and in Zid you add the record that proves the store's domain is yours.

Only a custom domain connected to your store can be verified; the free zid.store address can't. When the Business Platform asks how to verify the domain, choose the TXT DNS record: the root file method isn't supported in Zid. To connect a domain first, see Connect a custom domain.

Before you apply

You need:

  • A valid commercial registration or freelance document in the store owner's name.

  • A bank account linked to that commercial registration, or in the same name and ID number as the freelance document.

  • Your own custom domain as the store link. A social media account (Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat or TikTok) can't be the store link, though you can add those accounts as contact channels.

  • A valid registration certificate from the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, if your trademark is registered there.

Your store must also:

  • Show your commercial registration number and licenses clearly on its home page. See Show your Commercial Registration in the store footer.

  • Publish a privacy policy, an exchange, returns and refunds policy, and how shipping and delivery work. See Legal pages.

  • Give customers a clear way to contact you. See Edit your store's contact details.

  • Sell only products and services that comply with the regulations and fall within the activity of your commercial registration or freelance document.

When you apply, you also confirm that the domain is yours and isn't registered to anyone else, that the information you give is correct, and that your brand doesn't infringe a trademark someone else has registered.

Apply on the Business Platform

  1. Open the Business Platform and sign in with Nafath.

  2. Choose your document type, then the commercial registration or freelance document the store belongs to.

  3. Read the terms and conditions, agree to use the service and apply.

  4. Enter the store's basic details and its link, which is your custom domain, then continue.

  5. Enter your contact details, then continue.

  6. Under the bank account details, choose your bank, enter your IBAN and add it, then continue.

  7. Under the social media details, choose each platform and enter its details, then continue.

  8. When asked how to verify your domain, choose the TXT DNS record and continue.

  9. Copy the verification code the Business Platform shows. Keep the page open; you'll come back to it.

Add the verification record in Zid

  1. Go to Settings > Store > Domains list and select View in your custom domain's row.

  2. Select Add new record.

  3. Set Type to TXT.

  4. In Name, enter the name the Business Platform shows for the record, or @ if it shows none.

  5. Paste the verification code in Target.

  6. Keep TTL on Auto and select Add.

Then go back to the Business Platform and complete the verification. If the record isn't found straight away, wait a few minutes and verify again. For more on DNS records, see Manage DNS records.

Get approved the first time

  • Make sure your freelance document or commercial registration is valid and in the store owner's name.

  • Use a bank account in the same name and ID number as the document holder.

  • Attach a clear digital IBAN certificate downloaded from your bank's app.

  • Check every detail before you submit, and make sure it matches the documents you attach.
