Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions merchants ask most about selling with Zid, with links to the pages that cover each topic in full.

What is Zid?

Zid is a Saudi e-commerce platform, founded in 2017, that gives merchants what they need to sell online from one dashboard: an online store, payments, shipping, marketing tools and more sales channels. See Get started with Zid.

What can I do with Zid?

Do I need a Commercial Registration to open a store?

No. You can create your store and set it up without one. To accept card payments through Zid Payments, you need a Commercial Registration if you sell as a business, or a freelance certificate if you sell as an individual. See Activate Zid Payments.

How much does Zid cost?

You pay a subscription for your Zid plan. The plans and their prices are on Zid's pricing page. Some services, such as card payments, shipping and paid apps, have their own fees, which the dashboard shows before you turn them on. To see or change your plan, see Subscription and billing.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. Every store gets a free address on zid.store, and you can link a domain you own, such as yourstore.com. Linking your own domain depends on your plan. See Connect a custom domain.

Do my customers need an app to buy from my store?

No. Customers open your store's link in any browser, on their phone or their computer. If you want your own app for your customers, see Mobile app.

Which payment methods can my customers use?

Once Zid Payments is active, customers pay with mada, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Apple Pay. You can also offer buy now pay later services such as Tabby and Tamara, bank transfer, and other payment gateways. See Payment methods and Zid Payments.

Who pays for shipping?

You decide. Each shipping method has a price that customers see at checkout, and you can offer free shipping above an order value with an automatic discount. What a shipment costs you depends on the shipping company, the destination and the parcel. See Shipping and delivery and Zid Ship shipping methods.

Does Zid store or deliver my products?

Zid doesn't keep your stock. You keep it in your own places, such as a warehouse, a shop or a fulfilment partner, and add them as inventory locations. To deliver orders, you ship with the shipping companies on the Logistics page or with your own. See Shipping and delivery.

Does Zid market my store for me?

No, but the dashboard gives you the tools to do it: coupons and offers, SMS and WhatsApp campaigns, loyalty points, abandoned cart reminders, and connections to ad platforms through the App Market. See Marketing tools.

Where can I learn more about selling online?

Zid Academy has courses on running an online store, marketing and content. In the Zid merchant community, merchants share their experience with each other.

How do I contact Zid?

Chat with customer service from the dashboard, open a support ticket, or reach Zid by WhatsApp or email. See Contact Zid.

Where are Zid's terms and privacy policy?

Read Zid's terms and conditions and privacy policy.
