Move your store to Zid
When you move to Zid from another e-commerce platform, you bring over your products and customers, set up payments, shipping and your store's design, point your domain to Zid and redirect your old links. This page takes you through the move in order.
Before you start
Create your Zid store, choose the plan that fits your business and finish the first setup steps. When registration asks Selling on another platform?, answer Yes and choose your platform. The first card of your setup checklist then becomes Import Your Products & Customers. See Sign in and create your store.
Bring over your products and customers
You can move your data in one of two ways:
With Zid AI: select Zid AI > Tools Studio to open the Zid AI app, which moves your store's data from another platform. The app is free, and most moves take minutes, depending on how much data you have. See Zid AI and Zid Assistant and Move your products from another platform.
With import files:
Export your products and customers from your old platform as spreadsheet files. In Salla, for example, you export products from its products section and customers from its customers section, as CSV or Excel files.
Download Zid's import templates and copy your data into them. Import products from Products > All products > ⋮ > Import products, and customers from the More menu (⋮) at the top of the customer list > Import customers.
Upload the filled templates. See Import and export products and Import customers from a file.
You can also start the import from the Import Your Products & Customers card on the home page. See Set up your store.
Set up payments and shipping
Activate the ways customers pay: Zid Payments or another payment provider. See Payments.
Set up shipping: your shipping methods, their prices and the shipping companies you work with. See Logistics.
Design your store
Choose a theme, then customize its colors, fonts and layout in the theme editor so your store matches your brand. See Store themes and Theme editor.
Connect your domain
If you own your domain, link it to Zid and change its nameservers at your domain provider. See Link a domain you own.
If your old platform registered the domain for you, ask it to transfer the domain to your name first, then link it.
If you don't have a domain, request one from Zid or keep your free zid.store address. See Connect a custom domain.
Redirect your old links
Your products, categories and pages have different links on Zid than on your old platform. Redirect each old link to its new page, so customers and search engines that follow it reach the right page instead of a "page not found" error, and your store keeps its place in search results. Add redirects one at a time, or import many at once from a file. See URL redirects.
Check your store before you launch
| Check | What to look for |
