Activate Zid Payments
Apply for Zid Payments from Payments > Activate online payments. The application has three steps, then the store owner confirms their identity with Nafath when Zid asks for it, and Zid reviews your documents before payouts start.
Zid Payments is available to stores in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. You need a Zid plan that includes online payments, at least one published product with a name, a price and an image, and the staff permission to view Zid Payments. The Nafath step needs the permission to manage payment options.
Before you start
Your application reads your business details and documents from your store settings, so complete them first in Store information. What Zid asks for depends on your business type.
| Business type | Documents and details |
|---|---|
| Individual (freelancer) | Owner ID, freelance certificate, national address certificate, district and street |
| Establishment | Owner ID, commercial registration number and image, district and street |
| Company | Owner ID, commercial registration number and image, articles of association, board members' IDs, district and street |
| Charity or nonprofit | Owner ID, association certificate or commercial registration, basic regulations, board of directors' formation decision, district and street |
Every business type also shows the owner name, ID number, email, phone, country, city, store name, registered trade name, business type and business activity category. A tax number, VAT certificate and activity license are added when you have them.
For Kuwaiti stores, Zid asks for the front and back of the owner's national ID, and companies and establishments also provide the commercial license, the owner's signature and the directors' IDs.
You also need a bank account in the business's name for payouts and its IBAN certificate. On the Zid Payments learn more page, Payment activation requirements lists the documents for each business type.
Prepare documents that pass review
Zid's review checks that your documents are valid, consistent with each other and consistent with what your store sells. Check these points before you apply:
| Check | What the review expects |
|---|---|
| Activity | The activity on your commercial registration or freelance certificate covers what your store sells. If you sell products outside your registered activities, add the missing activities to your commercial registration with the Ministry of Commerce first; its guided activity search helps you find the name |
| Validity | The owner's ID, the commercial registration or freelance certificate, and any license are valid. Renew a commercial registration that is about to expire before you apply |
| Names | The ID holder is the owner on the commercial registration or freelance certificate, the national address certificate is in the same name, and the bank account's beneficiary name matches the business name |
| Bank certificate | Download it in English from your bank's app, or ask your branch, and check that it carries the bank's stamp or a barcode. Individuals need a certificate for a commercial account that shows the beneficiary name and the activity name |
| Image quality | Every document is complete and easy to read |
Individuals get their freelance certificate from the government Freelance platform; choose the profession that matches what you sell. If your bank shows the beneficiary name only in Arabic, ask the bank to add the English name before you download the certificate. Some activities, such as selling books, also need a license from the relevant authority, and the review asks for it when yours does.
Get your IBAN certificate and other Zid Payments documents explains how to get each document: the IBAN certificate from your bank's app, the freelance certificate, the right commercial registration activity and the national address certificate.
Step 1: Account information
The first step lists the details Zid will review, taken from your store settings.
Go to Payments and select Activate online payments. The Activate Zid Payments page opens on Account information.
Check each value. Next to anything missing you see Update Store Settings. Select it to open your business information in a new tab, add the missing item and save.
Reload the activation page. Next is available once every required item has a value.
Select Next.

Step 2: Operations and bank account
Tell Zid about your expected volume and choose where your payouts go.
Choose The average number of payment transactions per month.
Choose Expected sales volume for payments in a month. The ranges are in your store's currency.
Under Bank Information, pick an account in Select the bank account you want your payouts sent to., or select Add New account to enter a new one.
Fill in the bank details as described below, then select Next.
The expected numbers you enter don't change your fees, which depend on the payment network and your Zid plan.
Use a saved bank account
When you pick a saved account, Zid shows its bank name and IBAN, the Beneficiary Name and the IBAN certificate from your store settings. If no certificate is on file, Update Store Settings takes you to upload it.
Add a new bank account
| Field | Rules |
|---|---|
| Bank name | Choose your bank. Saudi companies and establishments skip this field: the bank is identified when the IBAN is verified |
| Beneficiary Name | In English, and it must match the trade name in your commercial registration or association registration certificate |
| IBAN | Saudi stores use the SA prefix. Where the prefix selector is available, choose SA, AE, KW, QA, OM or BH |
| IBAN certificate | Upload a JPG, PNG or PDF of the bank's IBAN certificate |
Verify your IBAN
Saudi companies and establishments verify a new IBAN before they continue.
Enter the IBAN and upload the certificate.
Select Verify.
Read the result:
IBAN Verified: the IBAN matches your business. The beneficiary name is filled in for you.
IBAN Mismatch: the IBAN does not match your business records. Check the IBAN or use an account in the business's name.
Verification Failed: the check could not run. Try again. After three failed attempts, the form lets you enter the bank details without the automatic check.
Individuals and charities in Saudi Arabia skip this check.
Step 3: Activate network
Tick the payment networks you want to offer. The table shows each network's name and the fee on your current Zid plan.
Tick I agree to the terms and conditions.
Select Activate.
You can change your networks later in Zid Payments settings, where the terms and conditions also stay available after activation. If another payment gateway is active, it is turned off when Zid Payments is activated.
Once Zid Payments is active, the networks you chose appear in your store's footer, on the shipping and payment options page and in the checkout steps.
Verify the store owner with Nafath
If Zid needs to confirm the owner's identity, you are taken to Nafath check after you submit. The same page opens from Verify with Nafath on the Payments page.
Before you start, install the Nafath app on the owner's phone and sign in, and check that the owner's ID number in Store information is correct.
Select Resend code if no code is showing. A number appears with a countdown under Zid Payments activation request has been sent.
On the store owner's phone, open the Nafath notification, or open the Nafath app and sign in with the identity shown in Store owner ID. The request is an account request from Zid's payment service provider (MyFatoorah), not from Zid by name.

After you apply

When your account is verified, the Payments page shows Your Zid payments account has been successfully verified. and payouts start on the next payout day: Sunday, Tuesday or Thursday in Saudi Arabia, or any working day from Sunday to Thursday in Kuwait. See Payout days and fees.
If the request is rejected, the alert lists the reasons. Correct your store data, then submit the activation request again from the link in the alert. Resubmitting reopens the same three steps.
