Get started with Zid

The Zid dashboard is where you run your online store: you add products, receive and fulfil orders, market to your customers, connect sales channels and services, and follow your results. This page gives you a tour of the dashboard and points you to the guide for each area.

Start here

If your store is new, follow these steps in order:

  1. Create your store and sign in. See Sign in and create your store.

  2. Complete the setup steps on the home page or in the Onboarding Wizard: your first product, your branding, a support phone number, your pickup location, business verification and payments. See Set up your store.

  3. Follow the guided journeys to your first order and your first five sales. See Get your first sales.

  4. Learn where everything is: the sidebar, the top bar and the Add menu. See Navigate the dashboard.

Moving from another e-commerce platform? See Move your store to Zid.

How the dashboard is organized

Every screen has the same frame:

  • The sidebar on the side of the screen has three tabs: Home for running your store day to day, Apps for the App Market and your installed apps, and Settings for store and account settings.

  • The top bar holds the Add button for creating orders, products, customers and marketing items, the search box, Zid AI, your wallet balance, notifications, your pinned and recent pages, and your account menu.

  • On a phone, a tab bar at the bottom of the screen gives you Home, Orders, Products and Search, plus the menu and Zid AI buttons.

Your subscription and Zid wallet open from the account menu and the wallet button in the top bar. See Subscription, plans and billing and Zid wallet. Support tickets open from the ticket icon in the top bar. See Support.

What you see depends on your plan, your country, the services you have activated and your staff permissions. Staff members see every sidebar item, but selecting one they have no permission for shows a message asking them to contact the store administrator. To change what a staff member can do, see Staff groups and permissions.

In a charity (NGO) store, some labels change: Orders becomes Donations, Products becomes Donation opportunities and Customers becomes Donors. Some pages, such as Logistics and Financing, don't appear.

How the help desk is organized

The help desk follows the same order as your work:

  • Getting started: sign in, set up your store and learn the dashboard.

  • Run your store: orders, products, inventory and customers.

  • Grow your sales: marketing, discounts and WhatsApp.

  • Sales channels: your online store, mobile app, POS and marketplaces.

  • Services: logistics, payments, financing and growth.

  • Insights: analytics and reports.

  • Account and settings: apps, finance, support and every settings page.

Most guides that describe one screen show an Open in dashboard link that opens the same screen in your store.
