Navigate the dashboard

Every dashboard page shares the same frame: a sidebar for moving between sections, a top bar for creating, searching and reaching your account, and, on a phone, a tab bar at the bottom of the screen. This page explains each part.

Use the sidebar

The sidebar has three tabs at the top. Each one opens its own list of pages:

TabOpensWhat the list contains
HomeThe DashboardDashboard, Orders, Products, Customers, Marketing, Whatsapp, Online store, Analytics, Logistics, Payments, Financing, Growth and Channels
AppsThe App MarketApp Market, My apps with each installed app under it, and app categories
SettingsAccount settingsGeneral, Communications and Store settings

Select a section to open its main page. Sections with more pages show an arrow; select it to expand the section and see its pages. The page you're on is highlighted.

Some items carry a label: New for a recent feature, Beta for a feature still being tested, or Soon for one that's coming. A small animated dot marks a section with something new inside.

Collapse the sidebar

Select the sidebar button at the start of the top bar to shrink the sidebar to icons. Point at an icon to see its name. Select the button again to expand it. The dashboard remembers your choice on this browser.

Staff members see every sidebar item. Selecting one they have no permission for shows a message asking them to contact the store administrator. See Staff groups and permissions.

Stores created before 14 October 2026 may still return to the previous Zid dashboard. If yours can, the Home tab ends with Return to Old Dashboard. Select Take me back, answer the short optional survey, and the previous dashboard opens. Stores created from that date on don't have the previous dashboard.

Use the top bar

From the start of the top bar to its end:

Point at an icon to see its name. While the dashboard loads a page, a thin progress bar runs along the bottom of the top bar.

Messages above the top bar

A colored bar sometimes appears above the top bar:

  • Subscription ending: shows the days left when your subscription ends within 7 days, with Renew subscription. You can close it for the rest of your session.

  • The store is closed or Orders are disabled: shows when your store is closed or not accepting orders right now, with a link to the Store settings that control your hours and the time left until you open. See Hours of operation and temporary closing.

  • Your subscription is being updated: shows for up to 10 minutes after you change your plan. Avoid switching plans or buying anything until it disappears.

  • Chargeback: shows when a Zid Payments transaction has a chargeback that needs your response. See Chargeback disputes.

Create from the Add menu

Select Add in the top bar to create something from any page. Point at Products or Marketing to see their options.

OptionDescription in the menuWhat happens
OrdersAdd a new customer orderCreates a manual order and opens it. See Manual orders
ProductsAdd a new product to your storeChoose Single product, Grouped product, Voucher, Digital files or Dynamic Bundle. Zid creates a draft product of that type and opens it. See Add a product
CustomersAdd a new customer profileOpens the new customer form. See Customers
MarketingCreate a new marketing activityChoose Affiliate marketer, Marketing bundle, Marketing campaign or Discount coupon
Suggest a featureSuggest a new feature for ZidOpens Zid's product updates panel, where you can send your idea

The marketing options open these screens:

  • Affiliate marketer opens the new affiliate form. See Affiliate marketing.

  • Marketing bundle opens the new bundle offer form. See Bundle offers.

  • Marketing campaign asks you to choose an SMS campaign or a WhatsApp Campaign. An SMS campaign needs an SMS sender name and SMS balance; a WhatsApp campaign needs an active WhatsApp service and balance. See Campaigns.

  • Discount coupon asks you to pick a coupon template, then opens the new coupon form. See Discounts and coupons.

Product types that your plan doesn't include show a Zid star; point at one to see which plan unlocks it. Options you have no staff permission for show a permission message instead. In charity (NGO) stores, the menu shows Donations, Donation opportunities and Donors, and the product options are Donation opportunity and Donation product.

Keyboard shortcuts

Shortcut on WindowsShortcut on MacAction
Ctrl + K⌘ + KOpen the search
Alt + Shift + O⌥ + Shift + OCreate a manual order and open it
Alt + Shift + N⌥ + Shift + NOpen Create new product to pick a product type

The order shortcut does nothing while you're already on a manual order.

Pin pages and find recent pages

Select Pinned and recent pages (the pin icon) in the top bar. The menu has two lists:

  • Pinned: the pages you pinned. Select a page to open it, drag a page by its handle to reorder the list, or select its filled star to unpin it.

  • Recent activity: the pages you visited most recently that aren't pinned. Select the star next to a page to pin it.

To pin pages you haven't visited:

  1. Select Add custom pages at the bottom of the menu.

  2. In Manage pinned pages, expand a section with its arrow and select the star next to each page you want.

  3. Select Save.

You can pin up to 15 pages. When you reach the limit, the stars turn off and show You can pin up to 15 pages. Your pinned pages are saved with your account. A page disappears from both lists when you lose permission to open it.

The Quick access card on the home page shows the same recent pages, with a star to pin or unpin each one, and View all opens this menu. See Dashboard home.

Use the account menu

Select your store logo at the end of the top bar.

A colored ring around your store logo reflects your plan. A flame next to the logo means you have a daily order streak; point at it to see your streak and share it. A sad face means the streak was lost, and selecting it opens your abandoned carts.

Switch the language

  1. Open the account menu.

  2. Next to Language, select العربية or English.

The page reloads in the language you chose, and the layout switches between right-to-left and left-to-right.

Turn on dark mode

  1. Open the account menu.

  2. Turn on Dark mode.

The dashboard remembers the mode on this browser.

Switch to another store

  1. Open the account menu.

  2. Under Other accounts, select the store.

The dashboard reloads in that store. To add a store to the list, select Add new store and sign in. See Sign in and create your store.

Check your wallet balance

The wallet button in the top bar shows your Zid wallet balance and currency. Select it to choose:

  • Add funds, to top up the wallet.

  • Manage wallet, to see the wallet's transactions and settings.

See Zid wallet.

The wallet button appears only for staff with permission to view the wallet, and Manage wallet only for staff who can manage it. Stores in Egypt don't see the wallet button.

Use the dashboard on a phone

On a phone, a tab bar stays at the bottom of the screen:

ButtonWhat it does

The search box moves from the top bar to the Search tab, and the account menu and pinned pages open as panels from the bottom of the screen. On the home page, the add button sits next to the welcome heading.
