Marketing campaigns
A marketing campaign sends one message, such as an offer or an announcement, to the customers or customer groups you choose, over SMS or WhatsApp. Find your campaigns in Marketing > Marketing campaigns.

Campaigns need the staff permission to manage campaigns, and a plan that includes marketing campaigns. On a plan without them, Create shows the plans that include them, the balance cards are hidden and the list invites you to upgrade.

Check your campaign balances
Two cards at the top of the page show what you can still send:
Sms balance shows how many SMS messages you have left. Select the + button to buy an SMS campaigns package. When your SMS sender name isn't approved yet, the card reads SMS status: Not activated, and Activate opens the sender name settings.
WhatsApp balance shows your WhatsApp points. Select + to buy more points. When WhatsApp isn't active, the card reads Whatsapp status: Not activated, and Activate opens the WhatsApp page; when the subscription has ended, Renew appears instead.
A Low badge appears when either balance falls to 200 or fewer.
Create a campaign
Go to Marketing > Marketing campaigns and select Create.
In the Create Marketing Campaign window, choose SMS campaign or WhatsApp Campaign.

A channel you can't use yet is greyed out. Hover over it to see why, or use its button:
| What is missing | What the window shows |
|---|---|
| SMS sender name | Activate SMS, which opens the sender name settings |
| SMS balance | A note to add SMS balance |
| WhatsApp subscription or active account | Activate WhatsApp, which opens the WhatsApp page |
| WhatsApp balance only | The card stays selectable and opens the window to top up your WhatsApp points |
You can also start a campaign from the create (+) menu in the top bar; see Navigation.
Create an SMS campaign
In the Create Marketing Campaign window, select SMS campaign. The Create SMS marketing campaign page opens.

Sample data from a demo store. Under Details, enter the Campaign Name. It reminds you of the campaign's purpose later; only your staff see it, customers don't.
Under Message content, choose Arabic or English, then write the message. You can include a link to your store in the text. Switching the language clears the message. The counter under the box shows the characters used against 133 for Arabic or 160 for English. That limit is the length of one SMS: a longer message uses more than one message from your balance.
Under Target segment, choose who receives the campaign:
Specific customers: select the customers one by one.
Customer group: select one or more customer groups.
Select Summary to show or hide the campaign summary, with your SMS balance, the target segment and how the message looks.
Finish the campaign:
Select Publish campaign to save it and send it now.
Select Save to keep it as a draft and send it later.
SMS campaigns are sent only between 7 am and 10 pm. You must select at least one customer or group; recipients can't be changed after the campaign is saved.
Create a WhatsApp campaign
In the Create Marketing Campaign window, select WhatsApp Campaign. The Create WhatsApp marketing campaign page opens.

Sample data from a demo store. Under Details, enter the Campaign Name. Only your staff see it.
Under Content, add an optional Campaign cover, an image or video that appears above the message:
Image: JPG or PNG, up to 5 MB.
Video: MP4 or 3GPP, up to 16 MB.
Under Message content, choose the Message language, Arabic or English, and write the Message in the editor, up to 1,024 characters. Switching the language clears the message. Select a Suggested values item (Store Name, Store URL or Customer Name) to insert it into the message.
Under Buttons, optionally select Add link or Copy coupon code to add a button to the message, up to three buttons. Select the delete icon on a button to remove it.
Add link: enter the Button text (up to 24 characters) and the Website URL the button opens.
Copy coupon code: enter the code the customer can copy in Coupon. Use English letters and numbers only. The button text is set for you.

Sample data from a demo store. Under Target segment, choose Specific customers or Customer group and select the recipients. The WhatsApp Daily Messaging Limit box shows how many messages you can send per day and how many are left today.

Sample data from a demo store. Check the Summary beside the form: your WhatsApp balance, the campaign name with its template status, the target segment, and a preview of the message with its cover and buttons. On a small screen, select Summary in the bar at the bottom of the page to open it.
Select Submit for review. The campaign is saved as a draft, its page opens, and its message template goes to Meta for review.
Submit a WhatsApp campaign a day or two before you plan to send it, so Meta has time to review it. To lower the chance of rejection, don't put two suggested values next to each other without text between them, and don't start or end the message with one.
Send the campaign to a customer group that cares about the offer rather than to every customer, and keep enough WhatsApp points for your automated messages too. Campaign messages are charged as marketing messages, the highest-priced category; see Message templates and costs for how they are charged and how to fix the editor's alerts.
Send or schedule a WhatsApp campaign
Meta reviews each WhatsApp campaign template before it can be sent. The review can take up to 48 hours. Follow it in the WhatsApp template column of the list.
Wait until the WhatsApp template column shows Accepted.
Open the campaign from the list.
Under Details, choose the Send time:
Send now: Zid starts preparing the campaign right away.
Schedule: pick the Date and the Time, which must be in the future. The time label shows your store's time zone.
Select Send campaign, or Schedule campaign if you picked a time. The campaigns list opens, and the campaign's status changes to Waiting for preparation or Scheduled.
Before you send, the Campaign status card estimates the campaign: the Recipients, the Estimated cost in points and the Estimated sending time. Nothing is charged when you send or schedule. Zid first prepares the recipients, checking their numbers and calculating the cost, and deducts the cost from your WhatsApp balance once they are ready. A scheduled campaign checks your balance only when it starts. To follow a campaign after you send it, see Campaign results.
The send buttons stay disabled while the template isn't approved or while the page has unsaved changes. Schedule can't be chosen until the template is approved. If you change the campaign, select Submit for review to send the updated template for review again.
A campaign must finish sending within 5 days. When your current WhatsApp limits would need longer, the page shows This campaign would take too long to send with the estimated time, and the campaign can't be sent. Send it to fewer recipients, or raise your daily messaging limit first.
When Schedule shows Soon, your store doesn't have scheduling yet: select Publish campaign to send the campaign at once. Its status then shows Published rather than the sending statuses.
When a template is Rejected, edit the message, then submit it for review again.
Cancel a scheduled campaign
You can cancel a scheduled campaign until its time comes. Its send time can't be changed, so to send it at another time, cancel the schedule, then schedule it again.
Open the campaign from the list. Its status is Scheduled, and the Campaign status card shows when it will be sent.
Select Cancel schedule.
In Cancel the campaign schedule?, select Cancel schedule to confirm, or Go back to keep it.
The campaign's status changes to Cancelled. No messages are sent and nothing is charged. To send it again, choose a send time, then send or schedule it. Its content can't be edited any more; to change it, select Duplicate at the top of the page to make a draft copy.
Find a campaign
Use the tabs to show All, SMS or WhatsApp campaigns, and search by name. Use the sort menu to order campaigns by Created date or Target segment (number of customers).
Select the filter button to filter by:
| Filter | Options |
|---|---|
| Channel | All, SMS or WhatsApp |
| WhatsApp message status | Shown when the channel is WhatsApp: All, Accepted, Pending or Rejected |
| Target segment | All, Specific customers or Customer group |
| Publish status | Draft or Published |
| Date | A date range |
The first four are under Campaign details.
The campaigns list

| Column | Shows |
|---|---|
| Campaign Name | The campaign's internal name |
| Channel | SMS or WhatsApp |
| Target segment | The number of customers who receive it. Campaigns sent to a group show (group) after the number |
| WhatsApp template | For WhatsApp: Accepted, Pending (Meta is reviewing, up to 48 hours) or Rejected |
| Publish status | Draft or Published, or a WhatsApp campaign's sending status once you send it, such as Scheduled or Sending; see Campaign statuses |
| Created date | When the campaign was created |
Select a campaign to open its page. A draft opens for editing; a WhatsApp campaign you sent shows its sending status and, once its messages go out, its results. A published SMS campaign opens read-only.
Each row also has:
View results on WhatsApp campaigns whose messages went out, or Edit on the others. Both open the campaign's page. See Campaign results.
A menu with Duplicate, which creates a draft copy of the campaign, and Delete, which asks you to confirm.
To delete several campaigns, tick them and select Delete in the bar that appears, then confirm. A WhatsApp campaign you sent can be deleted only once it shows Processing completed, Completed with errors, Cancelled or Submitted. In any other status, Delete is disabled and its row can't be ticked.
