Customer groups
Customer groups sort your customers into segments based on conditions such as their order count, location or birth month. Each group fills itself automatically from your customer data, so you can target it with tailored offers and campaigns or export it. Open them from Customers > Groups.

In a store registered as a non-profit organization, the menu item is Donors groups and groups hold donors. Buttons such as View customers and Export customers read View donors and Export donors.
Creating and editing customer groups, and viewing a group's customers, depend on your plan. When your plan does not include groups, Create opens an upgrade message. Staff members also need the permission to create, edit, export or delete customers for those actions.
The groups list
The list shows every group with these columns:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name | The group's name. Select it to see the group's customers. |
| Percentage of total customers | The share of your customers who belong to the group. |
| Customer count | How many customers are in the group. |
Type in the Search box to find a group by name. Each row has a View customers button and a menu (⋮) with Edit, Export customers and Delete.
Create a group
Select Create. The Create new customer group dialog opens. If you have no groups yet, Get started now opens it too.

Sample data from a demo store. Choose how to start:
Custom group starts from scratch with your own conditions.
A template starts with its name and conditions already filled in (see the table below).
On the Create group page, enter the group's Name in Details. Customers don't see it; it is for your team only.
Under Conditions, select Add condition and choose a condition type. Fill in its values. Repeat for each condition you need.
Check the Group summary on the side: it shows the group name and each condition with its value.
Select Create.

View a group's customers
Select a group's name, or View customers in its row. The page lists the group's customers under Customer List, with their number. The Applied filters: row shows the group's conditions, and the dashboard builds the list from them automatically.

| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name | The customer's name. |
| Mobile | The customer's mobile number. |
| The customer's email address. | |
| COD | Whether cash on delivery is Enabled or Disabled for the customer. |
| Ads and updates | Whether the customer is Subscribed or Unsubscribed. |
| Status | Whether the account is Active or Inactive. |
Select View on a row to open the customer's details page.
Edit a group
Open the group's menu (⋮) and select Edit.
On the Edit group page, change the name or the conditions.
Select Save.
View customers at the top of the page opens the group's customers.
Export a group
Open the group's menu (⋮) and select Export customers. The export runs in the background, and the dashboard takes you to Export requests to download the file when it is ready. Exporting depends on your plan and needs the permission to export customers.
Delete a group
Open the group's menu (⋮), select Delete, then confirm with Delete. Deleting a group does not delete its customers.
