Add a product

Every product starts with its type: a single product, a grouped product, a voucher, digital files or a dynamic bundle. This page explains each type and walks you through creating a product, from choosing the type to the first save.

Choose a product type

TypeUse it forGuide
Single productAdd a single product for direct sale: a physical or service product, with or without options such as size and color.Product details, Options and variants
Grouped productCombine multiple products into one bundle: a fixed set of your existing products sold together at one price.Grouped products and bundles
VoucherCreate reusable and purchasable vouchers: codes that let customers activate a digital product, such as a subscription or a prepaid card.Digital files and vouchers
Digital filesSend digital files directly to customers: e-books, courses, designs and other downloads.Digital files and vouchers
Dynamic BundleLet the customer choose bundle components themselves: the customer builds the bundle from selections you set up.Grouped products and bundles

Grouped product, Voucher, Digital files and Dynamic Bundle depend on your plan. A type your plan doesn't include appears greyed out with a star icon; hover over it to see which plan includes it. Charity (NGO) stores create donation opportunities and donation products instead. See Donation opportunities.

Create a product

  1. Go to Products > All products and select Create. You can also select Add in the top bar, then Products.

The Products page in the dashboard, with Products highlighted in the sidebar and the Create button highlighted
Sample data from a demo store.
  2. In Create new product, select the product type.

The Create new product dialog with the five product types and Single product highlighted
Sample data from a demo store.
  3. The product page opens with the type as its title, such as Single product. Fill in at least:

    • The product name in Arabic or English (Product (Arabic), Product (English)).

    • Selling price.

    • Product code SKU.

  4. Add images, stock, categories and any other details. See Product details.

  5. In the sidebar, check Show product to decide whether customers can see the product once it's saved.

  6. Select Save product.

Save product stays disabled until the product has a name. After the first save, the page title changes to the product's name.

Creating a product needs the staff permission to create products. Editing it later needs the permission to edit and delete products.

Unsaved new products are kept as drafts

Choosing a type creates the product straight away as a draft. If you leave the page without saving, the product stays in your products list with the Draft status. Open it to finish it, or delete it from the list.

What you can set after the first save

A few settings only become available once the product has been saved:

  • Choosing products for Customize similar products.

  • Turning the product on or off in Markets, and Edit Prices for market prices.

  • The Hidden product link, which is created when you save with Custom by Link selected.

Start from a product template

While a product is new, the Product Preview card in the sidebar shows Design template. Choose a template to fill the form with example data:

TemplateExample
Physical ProductA ceramic coffee mug
Beauty ProductA skincare set
Electronics ProductWireless headphones
Digital ProductAn online course with unlimited stock
The Design template list open in the Product Preview card, with Default and the four product templates
Personal details are covered.

A template fills the name, price, cost, short and detailed descriptions, SEO title and description, keywords, image label, stock quantity and two or three sample images. It doesn't fill the SKU, weight, barcode, categories, brand or visibility.

After you apply a template, the message Template applied! reminds you to replace the example data with your real product details before saving. The sample images are uploaded when you save. Choosing Default again clears the template selection but doesn't undo the values it filled in.
