Connect your Aramex account
If you have your own e-commerce contract with Aramex, you can connect it to Zid through custom shipping. Shipping labels are then issued under your Aramex account and rates, and you decide which cities customers see Aramex in and what they pay. Start from the Custom shipping card on the Logistics page.
Custom shipping isn't included in every Zid plan. Without it, the Custom shipping card offers an upgrade instead of Add option. Staff members need the Zid Ship view or settings permission, and the store needs at least one inventory location to ship from.
Your own Aramex account or Aramex through Zid Ship
You can also ship with Aramex without a contract of your own, as a Zid Ship method. Pick the one that fits how you work:
| Your own Aramex account | Aramex through Zid Ship | |
|---|---|---|
| Contract | Your e-commerce contract with Aramex | None with Aramex: one agreement with Zid |
| Setup | Enter five account details from Aramex in Zid | Select Activate on the Aramex method |
| What you pay | Your contract rates; Aramex bills you directly | The method's rate, deducted from your Zid wallet or a label package |
| What customers pay | The prices you set per zone | The method's default price, or your own prices per zone |
| Cash on delivery | Depends on your Aramex contract | On methods that support it; Zid charges the COD fee and settles the cash to you |
| Services | The Aramex method you connect | Pickup from your location (Standard), branch drop-off (Economy), heavy shipments (Care Required) and the Gulf (International) |
| Cancel a label | With Aramex | From the order's page in Zid. See Cancel a shipping label. |
Choose your own account when you already ship enough with Aramex to have negotiated rates. Otherwise Zid Ship is quicker to start with. See Zid Ship shipping methods.
What you need first
An e-commerce account with Aramex, opened under a contract with Aramex. Zid doesn't issue Aramex accounts.
Five details from that account, listed below. If you're missing one, ask your Aramex account manager or Aramex's support.
| Detail | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Account number | Your Aramex account |
| Account PIN | Your Aramex account, with the account number |
| Entity | The city code of your Aramex account, such as RUH, JED or DMM |
| Username | The username you sign in to Aramex with, usually your email |
| Password | The password for that username |
Connect Aramex to Zid
On the Logistics page, in the Custom shipping card, select Add option.
On Manage custom shipping methods, in the Shipping method details card, choose an Aramex method in Shipping method. The Aramex fields appear.
Fill in the fields below.
Select Activate.
| Field | What to enter | Rule |
|---|---|---|
| Shipping method | The Aramex method you want to offer | Required |
| Entity | Your account's city code | Required |
| Username | Your Aramex username | Required |
| Password | Your Aramex password | Required |
| Account PIN | Your Aramex account PIN | Required |
| Account number | Your Aramex account number | Required |
Shipping method can list more than one Aramex method, such as one for the Gulf and one for international shipping. Each method you connect keeps its own account details.
Zid saves the account and opens the method's page, titled with its name. If the button at the top reads Activate, select it so customers can see Aramex at checkout. Activation fails if Aramex doesn't serve the inventory you ship from; the message names the inventory.

Check the connection
Zid has no separate test button. To check that Aramex is connected:
Open View all in the Custom shipping card. The Aramex method is listed with the Status Active.
The Cash on delivery column shows whether you can offer cash on delivery with this method.
Issue a label for your next Aramex order (see below). If the label is issued, your account details work.
Set zones and customer prices
Customers see Aramex only in the cities of your zones, and pay the price you set for each zone.
On the method's page, in Shipping zone customization, select Add shipping zone.
Enter a Zone name and select the zone's cities.
Under Customer price, choose Flat rate or Weight-based pricing and enter the prices.
If the method supports cash on delivery, turn on Cash on delivery (COD) and enter the COD rate customers pay.
Select Save.
The zone table appears once the method is active. For every field, and how to pause, edit or delete a zone, see Set shipping zones and prices. An international Aramex method has no zone table: you edit the price of each destination zone instead, as described in International methods. For how customers pay on delivery, see Offer cash on delivery.
Issue labels and track shipments
You issue Aramex labels from each order, the same way as with any shipping company:
Open the order and select Issue shipping label on the shipping company card. The order moves to Ready and the label is issued under your Aramex account.
Select Manage shipment > Print label to print it.
Select Manage shipment > Order tracking to open Aramex's tracking page in a new tab. You can also send the tracking number on the card to your customer.
Aramex bills you for these shipments under your contract; they don't appear in Zid's wallet or Transactions log. To cancel a label, cancel it with Aramex. See Issue a shipping label and Manage the shipment.
Update your account details or turn Aramex off
Open the method's page from View all in the Custom shipping card, then select View. The Password and Account PIN show as asterisks after you save them.
To change a detail, edit the field, entering a new password or PIN over the asterisks, and select Update. Leave the asterisks as they are to keep the saved values.
To stop offering Aramex, select Deactivate and confirm. It disappears from checkout immediately.
To offer it again, select Activate.
If Aramex labels aren't issued
When you can't mark an order Ready, or no label is issued for an Aramex order, the cause is usually your Aramex account. Check that:
the account number, PIN and entity are the ones on your Aramex contract, and the entity is your account's city code;
the username and password still sign you in to Aramex; if you changed your Aramex password, update it in Zid too;
Aramex has activated your e-commerce account and API shipping on it.
Then correct the details on the method's page and select Update. If labels still aren't issued, contact your Aramex account manager.
