Payment links

A payment link lets a customer pay for an order from a link you send them by SMS, email or WhatsApp. Payments > Payment links lists every link with its status, and each link's page shows who opened it, how they paid and what you received.

Payment links need Zid Payments to be active, or a payment provider connected from Other payment providers, and a Zid plan that includes payment links. Viewing links needs the staff permissions to view Zid Payments and payment links. Copying, sharing, cancelling and reactivating links need the permission to manage payment links.

You create a payment link from a manual order: choose Payment link as the order's payment method, set the link's options, then place the order.

  1. Go to Orders > Manual orders and create an order, or select Create order on the empty Payment links page.

  2. Add the customer and products, then choose Payment link as the payment method.

  3. Under Link details, set:

  4. Under Send by, choose to send the link by SMS, by email, or both. WhatsApp sharing is available after you place the order.

  5. Select Save, then place the order.

Manual orders explains the rest of the order form.

Sending links by SMS needs the SMS option turned on in Zid Payments settings and a balance of order notification messages.

What your customer sees

  1. The customer receives the link in the language you chose, by the channels you picked.

  2. Opening the link takes them to a secure payment page for the order. The link's status changes to Viewed, and Link opening count on its page goes up.

  3. The page shows the link number with its creation and expiry dates, the customer's name, mobile number and email, each product with its quantity and price, and the total with shipping and any discount code applied. It offers only the payment methods you turned on for the link, and if you required it, the customer must accept your terms and conditions before paying.
