Preorder campaigns
A preorder campaign lets customers order selected products during a set period, for example before a new collection arrives, so you can show products and take orders before they're actually in stock. Customers order and pay as they do for any other product, according to your store's checkout settings. You run campaigns in Products > Preorder campaigns, where you choose the products, the dates, how stock affects the campaign, which status new orders get and what customers see on the product page.
Staff members need the permission to view preorder campaigns to open the list, and the permission to manage them to create or edit a campaign. Charity (NGO) stores don't see Preorder campaigns in the sidebar.
The campaigns list

| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name | The campaign's name. Select it to edit the campaign. |
| Start date, End date | When the campaign runs. |
| Status | Active, Inactive or Expired. |
| Actions | Edit and Delete. |
Type in Search to find a campaign.
Select the filter button to filter by Date, then Apply. Select Reset to clear it.
Select the sort button to order campaigns by Created at, Start date or End date, ascending or descending.
The status is set automatically; there is no switch to activate or pause a campaign. To stop a campaign early, change its end date or delete it.
Create a preorder campaign
Go to Products > Preorder campaigns and select Create (or Create campaign when the list is empty).
Fill in the About campaign card, described below.
In Selected products, select Edit products, tick the products and confirm. At least one product is required.
Optionally enter a Sale Price for each product.
Check the Product preview to see how the badge looks.
Select Create. You return to the list.
About campaign
The About campaign card starts with the campaign's details:
| Field | Rules and options |
|---|---|
| Campaign name | Required in at least one language. |
| Start date, End date | Both required. The end date must be after the start date (the same day isn't allowed). |
| Order limit | Optional. The maximum number of orders the campaign accepts. Leave it empty for no limit. When you edit a campaign with a limit, Orders remaining shows how many are left. |
| Show countdown | Off by default. When on, the product page shows a countdown to the end of the campaign. |

Next, choose how the campaign works with stock and orders:
| Field | Rules and options |
|---|---|
| Preorder by stock | In stock (default): preorder is active while the product is in stock. Out of stock: preorder is active when the product is out of stock. |
| Order status | New (default): preorders arrive with the New status. Custom status: choose the status preorders arrive with. You can pick New, Preparing, Ready or In delivery, or your own custom statuses if you use them. |

Finally, decide whether preorders can be mixed with other products, and write the text customers see under Custom messaging:
| Field | Rules and options |
|---|---|
| Ability to combine preorder & in-stock products in one order | Allow (default): customers can mix preorder and in-stock products in one order. Disallow: customers must order preorder products separately. |
| Promotional title | Required in at least one language. The badge text on the product, such as "Pre-order Now". |
| Release note | Optional, per language. Use it to tell customers about shipping dates or availability. |

Selected products
The product picker lists published products only. Grouped products and dynamic bundles can't join a preorder campaign, and you choose whole products rather than individual variants.
The table shows each product's name, SKU, Quantity and Price. The Sale Price box is optional. Select Edit products to add or remove products at any time.

When you save the campaign, each sale price you entered is written to the product itself, with a sale period from the campaign's start date to its end date. If that update fails for some products, a message tells you the campaign was saved but the sale prices weren't.
To remove a product, select Delete on its row and confirm.
What customers see
The Product preview on the side of the form shows a sample product card with your promotional title as a badge (Pre-order by default) and a Preorder now button. As the preview notes, the final look may differ in your store's theme.

Customers also see the countdown, if you turned it on, and the release note.
Preorders appear in your orders list with a Preorder label, and you can filter orders by Preorder campaign. See Manage orders.
Edit or delete a campaign
Select the campaign's name or Edit.
Change the fields and select Save.
To delete a campaign, select Delete on its row or on the edit page, and confirm.
