Print barcodes
You can print labels with each product's barcode or SKU, ready to stick on products or shelves. Printing starts from the products list in Products > All products, for one product or for several at once.
Barcode printing is included in the Growth and Professional plans. Staff members need the permission to print barcodes (or to edit products, when they print from a product's row).
Only products and variants that have a barcode can be printed. To add barcodes first, enter them in the Barcode field under Advanced information on the product page (see Product details), or in bulk in the Barcode column of the bulk edit spreadsheet (see Bulk edit, sorting and trash bin).
Print barcodes for one or more products
Go to Products > All products.
Start printing:
For one product, open the ⋮ menu on its row and select Print barcode.
For several products, tick them, open Actions and select Print barcode.
In Select products to print barcodes, choose what to print (see below), then select Next.
In Select print barcodes options, choose the label type, size and content. The preview on the side updates as you choose.
Select Print. The labels open in a new browser tab, ready to print.
Choose the products and copies
Products with variants are listed with one row per variant. Rows that have a barcode are listed first and ticked; rows without a barcode are faded and can't be selected. When printing several products, tick Hide products that don’t have barcodes to hide them.
| Column | What you set |
|---|---|
| Inventory | The inventory location to print for. Its Available quantity (or Unlimited) shows below it. |
| Quantity | How many labels to print, from 1 up to the available quantity. Tick All quantity to print one label per unit in stock (not available for unlimited stock). |
| Barcode | Available or Missing. |
Changing the inventory resets the number of copies to 1.
If none of the selected products has a barcode, the dialog shows No products with barcodes. Select Assign barcode in bulk (or Assign barcode for a single product) to open the bulk edit spreadsheet and add them.
Choose the label options
| Option | Choices |
|---|---|
| Type | Rectangle (default) or Jewelry, a narrow label for small items such as rings, accessories and prayer beads. |
| Printing size | For rectangle labels: Small (22x44 mm) (default) or Large (25x50 mm). For jewelry labels: Small (12x60 mm). |
| Code | Barcode (default) or SKU code: which code the label encodes. |
Under Customize appearance (optional), tick what else the label shows:
Add store name
Add product name
Add barcode number (when the code is Barcode): prints the number under the barcode, so you and your staff can identify the product without scanning it. When the code is SKU code, this option is Add barcode symbol.
Add product price
Show the price including TAX
Changing the type, size or code clears these choices.
Space on small labels
Small labels can't fit everything, so some options turn off when you pick others. For example, choosing both the store name and the product name disables the price and tax options. On rectangle labels, the message To enable all options, please select the large size reminds you that the large size fits every option.
On jewelry labels, a code longer than 12 characters shows Barcode is too long and may not be scannable when printed.
