Meta verification, limits and display name
Meta, which owns WhatsApp, decides how many customers your number can message each day and whether it approves the business name your customers see. Both depend on your business portfolio in Meta: whether Meta verified your business, and how customers react to your messages. Zid can't speed up or change Meta's decisions, but the steps on this page improve your chances.
Verify your business with Meta
Business verification confirms your business's identity with official documents. You can activate Zid WhatsApp without it, but verification:
Raises your daily messaging limit above the starting tier.
Helps Meta approve your display name.
Speeds up template approvals and makes your account more credible.
Lowers the chance that Meta restricts your account.
Is required before you can request Meta's verified badge.
| Verified business portfolio | Unverified business portfolio | |
|---|---|---|
| Daily limit | Goes beyond 250 customers a day, then grows automatically to higher tiers | 250 customers a day at most |
| Display name | Can be approved | May not be approved |
| Verified blue badge | Eligible to apply | Not eligible |
| Account safety | Better protected | More exposed to restriction, a ban or losing the number |
Meta doesn't raise the limit all at once. After verification, it moves you up gradually based on the quality of your messages and how regularly you send.
What you need
Your Commercial Registration and your National Address, both in English.
Business details in your business portfolio that match the documents exactly:
The portfolio name and the legal business name match the name on your Commercial Registration.
The address matches your National Address.
A complete website with clear information about your business, showing your business name, for example in the footer.
The Commercial Registration certificate in English looks like this:

The National Address proof, in Arabic and English, looks like this:

Any difference between the documents and your portfolio details can get the request rejected. To review your details, open Complete business info in the activation checklist, or in Meta Business Suite click Settings (the gear at the bottom of the left bar) and choose Business info.

Start the verification
You verify your business yourself, in Meta. Zid's team can't follow up on a request you submit this way.
On the WhatsApp page, find the Raise your daily message limit banner in the Overview card and click Verify business. Meta Business Suite opens in a new tab, on your business account's security center.
In the Business verification section, click Start.
Enter your business details: its legal name, its type and its address and website.
Pick your business from the list Meta finds, or choose the option that says none of them matches.
Upload your Commercial Registration and National Address and submit the request.
Wait for Meta's decision, which takes from a day to two weeks, sometimes longer.
Meanwhile the button on the WhatsApp page reads Verification status, and once Meta verifies you the banner reads Your WhatsApp business account is verified. While Meta reviews your request, you can keep replying to customers, but Meta may pause your templates and some settings until verification ends.
Meta allows only three verification attempts, after which it can refuse your business for good. Check that every detail matches your documents before you submit. If Meta rejects the request, read the reason under Account quality in Meta Business Suite, correct your details, then submit again.
Let Zid's team submit your documents
Zid's team can submit your documents to Meta for you, free of charge, and follow the request until it's complete. Verification through Zid usually takes from 2 to 5 working days when your details are complete and match. Contact Zid support and send:
Your Commercial Registration as a PDF.
Your National Address as a PDF.
A screenshot of the Business info page of your business portfolio, like the one above.
Meta makes the final decision, so Zid can't guarantee acceptance. Checking that your details and documents are complete before they're submitted raises your chances and shortens the review.
How the daily messaging limit works
The Overview card on the WhatsApp page shows your daily limit, how many customers you messaged today, and your tier.
Meta counts the different customers you start a conversation with during a rolling 24 hours. Replies to customers who messaged you first don't count.
The limit belongs to your whole business portfolio, so every number in the same portfolio shares it.
New accounts start at the lowest tier, 250 customers a day. Verifying your business raises the limit to 2,000 customers a day.
After that, Meta raises your tier automatically as you use more of your limit while the quality of your messages stays high.
To keep your quality high and your limit growing:
Message only customers who agreed to receive WhatsApp messages from your store.
Increase what you send gradually instead of sending heavily from the first day.
Keep your messages useful. Customers who block or report your number lower its quality, which can lower your limit or get the number restricted.
Meta can also hold back marketing messages to customers who received many recently or who rarely read them, even when your limit allows more.
Get your display name approved
Your display name is the business name customers see in their WhatsApp chats with you. Meta reviews it when you connect your number and every time you change it, and the Overview card shows the review status. You can also check the status in Meta Business Suite. Customers see the name in place of your number only once both are true:
Meta has approved the display name.
Meta has verified the business your number belongs to.
The name then appears in your chats automatically. The review depends on how your number is connected:
| Number | How the display name is reviewed |
|---|---|
| On Zid only | The standard review described below. |
| Also on the WhatsApp Business app | You edit the name and submit it for review from the app on your phone only, not from Zid. |
| Meta's free test number | It can't send messages until the name is approved, and Meta reviews it only after your portfolio's limit grows. See Meta's free test number. |
Why Meta rejects a display name
It doesn't match the legal name in your business portfolio, and the link between the two isn't clear.
It doesn't appear on your website, or your website, social media pages and display name show different brands.
It's a person's name, a generic word such as "Fashion", a place name on its own such as "Riyadh", or a long slogan instead of a business name.
Your business portfolio has no working website.
Its symbols, spacing or capital letters differ from the way your brand appears on your website.
Improve your chances
Write the name exactly as it appears on your website, with the same spaces and capital letters.
If your brand differs from your legal name, make the link clear. Use the form "Brand by Legal name", or state in your website footer that the store belongs to your company, such as "Store A, part of Company B".
Make sure your business portfolio lists a working website.
Use at least three characters, no emojis, no unneeded punctuation, and not all capital letters.
Complete your business verification as early as you can.
Review time, postponed reviews and changes
A review usually takes from a few hours to a few days, and sometimes up to a week.
Review postponed usually means the account is new and hasn't sent messages yet, or the business isn't verified. Start sending messages and setting up templates gradually, complete the verification, then try again.
If Meta rejects the name, change it in Account details and submit it again with a name that reflects your actual business. See Edit your WhatsApp business profile. You can also resubmit the same or an edited name from WhatsApp Manager in Meta Business Suite, with a clear explanation of how the name relates to your business when Meta asks for one.
You can change the name freely before Meta approves it. After approval, you must wait 30 days between change requests.
If your number also runs on the WhatsApp Business app, change the display name from the app on your phone. Meta doesn't take display name changes for these numbers from Zid.
