WhatsApp settings

WhatsApp settings is where you set up how your WhatsApp account presents itself and replies to customers. Open it from Whatsapp > Settings in the sidebar, or click Settings on the WhatsApp page.

Settings need a WhatsApp subscription; without one, the page shows Settings are not available. The cards are disabled, and their pages don't open, until your number is Active and your subscription is current.

Edit your WhatsApp business profile

Your business profile is what customers see when they open your business info in WhatsApp.

  1. On the settings page, click Edit in the Account details card.

  2. Update the fields under Account information (see the table).

  3. Click Save.

Editing the profile needs the WhatsApp permission for managing the profile and connection.

MobileYour connected number. You can't change it here.
AddressYour business address in the format you prefer.
CategoryYour business category, such as Retail, Apparel, Beauty, Grocery or Restaurant.

When you change the display name, Meta reviews it before customers see it. The review status (In review, Approved, Available to use, Review postponed or Rejected) appears on the WhatsApp page and here. To choose a name Meta accepts, see Get your display name approved.

If your number also runs on the WhatsApp Business app, change its display name from the app on your phone. Meta doesn't take display name changes for these numbers from Zid.

Manage quick replies

Quick replies are messages you save once and send with a click from live chat, where they appear as Quick replies.

To create a quick reply:

  1. On the settings page, click Customize in the Quick replies card.

  2. Click Create quick reply.

  3. Write the Reply message. It can be up to 4,096 characters.

  4. Click Create.

The Quick replies page lists your saved replies with a search box. Click Delete on a reply to remove it.

In live chat, hover a message you sent and choose Add to quick replies to add it to your quick replies.

Manage tags

The Tags page has two parts: Customer tags and Conversation tags. Open it with Customize in the Tags card.

Conversation tags

Conversation tags label chats in live chat so you can filter and find them.

  1. Click Add tag.

  2. Enter the Tag name, up to 30 characters.

  3. Pick a Tag color.

  4. Click Save.

You can have up to 50 conversation tags; Add tag is disabled when you reach the limit. To delete a tag, click its delete icon. If the tag is on conversations, the dialog lists some of them before you confirm with Delete. Deleting can't be undone.

You can also create a tag while tagging a chat in live chat, by typing a new name and pressing Enter.

Customer tags

Customer tags are the tags on your store's customers. The table lists them with their number beside the title, and you can rename or delete them here.

  • To rename a tag, click its edit icon, change the Tag name and click Save. The name must be 3 to 128 characters and use letters, numbers, spaces, hyphens or underscores only.

  • To delete one tag, click its delete icon and confirm with Delete.

  • To delete several, select them and choose Delete from the bulk actions. You can delete up to 100 tags at a time.

If a tag is used in a customer group's filters, it can't be deleted. The dialog lists the groups that use it; open each group, remove the tag from its filters, save, then try again.

Renaming and deleting customer tags needs the permission to edit customers.

Let customers unsubscribe

Customers can stop your WhatsApp messages by replying with a keyword, and start them again the same way. The Unsubscribe from messages card turns this on or off; it's on by default. When it's off, a customer who sends a keyword isn't unsubscribed and gets no reply.

  1. Click Customize in the Unsubscribe from messages card.

  2. Under Recognized keywords, check the words Zid recognizes. You can't change them:

    KeywordsWords
  3. Write the Unsubscribe confirmation message and the Resubscribe confirmation message customers get, up to 1,024 characters each. Both start with a default message you can change. Check them in Preview.

  4. Click Save. Use Activate or Deactivate at the top of the page to turn the feature on or off.

Tell customers how to stop your messages, for example by mentioning the keyword in your marketing messages, so they reply with it instead of blocking or reporting your number.
