WhatsApp subscription and points
Zid WhatsApp has two costs: a subscription that unlocks the WhatsApp features, and messaging points that each sent message uses. You manage both from Whatsapp > Overview: the Subscription plan row opens the subscription options, and the Points balance card tops up your points.
Managing the subscription and buying points needs the WhatsApp permission for the balance and subscription.
How the subscription works with your Zid plan
On some higher Zid plans, the WhatsApp subscription is included in your package. The WhatsApp page then shows WhatsApp subscription included in your package, marked Free, with 200 free welcome points. Messaging points are still sold separately.
On other plans you subscribe to WhatsApp separately. Some plans can start with a 30-day free trial, shown as Start with no fees.
Marketing messages need the Growth plan or higher.
Every paid plan includes 200 free messaging points to get started.
Choose or renew a subscription
On the WhatsApp page, click Manage (or Renew) in the Subscription plan row of the Overview card. The Zid WhatsApp subscription options page opens.
Compare the plans. Each card shows the monthly price, the old price when there's a discount, and the total billed every 6 or 12 months for longer plans. The yearly plan is marked Best value, and your current plan is marked Current plan.
Click Select followed by the plan name to subscribe, or Extend your subscription on your current plan to extend it.
Complete the payment on the checkout page.
Below the plans, All Plans Include lists what every plan unlocks: campaigns, abandoned cart reminders, order notifications, live chat and product reviews. Restock alerts are marked as coming soon.
When your WhatsApp subscription is included in your Zid plan, the Subscription plan row has no manage button.
Subscription alerts
The WhatsApp parts of other pages, such as order notifications, abandoned cart reminders, review notifications, marketing campaigns and live chat, warn you about your subscription:
| Alert | When it appears |
|---|---|
| Trial expiring soon | Your free trial ends within 5 days. Subscribe to a plan to keep the service. |
| Trial expiring today | Your free trial ends today. |
| Subscription ending soon | Your subscription ends within 5 days. Renew it to keep the features. |
| Subscription ending today | Your subscription ends today. |
| Your subscription is expired | Your subscription ended. Activate takes you to the WhatsApp page. Your remaining points are kept. |
| Free trial ended | Your trial ended. See subscriptions takes you to the WhatsApp page to choose a plan. |
| Number under review | Your number is connected and Meta is still reviewing it. |
| Activate the WhatsApp feature | WhatsApp isn't activated yet. Activate takes you to the WhatsApp page. |
When your subscription or trial has ended, WhatsApp features such as live chat and reply flows are unavailable until you renew.
Top up your points balance
Every WhatsApp message your store sends uses points from your balance, apart from the free support messages each number gets every month. The cost of each message appears in the message logs, and Message templates and costs explains how it's calculated.
On the WhatsApp page, click Top up balance in the Points balance card.
In the Increase points balance dialog, pick a points bundle. Each option shows the bundle and its price. Larger bundles come with bulk discounts.
Click Proceed with payment and complete the payment on the checkout page.
You can buy points only while your subscription is active and your number is Active.
The Points balance card shows a Low tag when your balance drops below 500 points.
The same balance appears as Current points amount on the WhatsApp parts of other pages, such as order notifications, abandoned cart reminders and campaigns, with a plus button that opens the same top-up dialog. There, the Low tag appears at 200 points or less. If WhatsApp isn't activated, the card shows Not activated with an Activate button, and after your subscription expires it shows Subscription expired with a Renew button.
When your balance runs out
In live chat, a message that needs more points than you have isn't sent. An Insufficient WhatsApp balance message tells you your balance and the points needed, with a Top up balance button.
Resending failed messages from the message logs charges only for messages that are delivered.
