Custom reports
Analytics > Reports lets you build your own reports: choose the metrics you want to measure, split them by dimensions such as city or product, filter the data, compare it with a past period and show it as a table or a chart. Zid also provides ready-made reports, such as Sales over time, Product sales, Top Customers and Coupon performance, that you can open, adjust and save as your own. The menu item carries a New badge.
Custom reports need a plan that includes them and the staff permission to view reports. Creating, saving, renaming, deleting and pinning reports need the permission to edit reports, and Export needs the permission to export reports.
Browse your reports
Go to Analytics > Reports. The page shows when the list was last refreshed and two lists:
Pinned reports: reports you pinned, in one row. Click Show more to see them all, or Show less to collapse them.
All reports: every other report, loaded as you scroll. Type at least three characters in the search box to search all reports, pinned ones included.
Each report card shows the report's name, category, description, who created it (Zid for ready-made reports) and when you last viewed it. Hover the view time to see the exact date. Click a card to open the report.

Start from a ready-made report
Reports that carry the Zid badge come ready to run. Open one to see your data straight away, then change its settings and save your own copy. For example:
| Ready-made report | What it shows when it opens |
|---|---|
| Total sales by city | Total sales, with discounts and tax, for each shipping city, as a table. |
| Total sales by channel | Total sales, with discounts and tax, for each sales channel, as a table. |
| Sales over time | Total sales, orders, average order value and total tax for each day, as a line chart. |
| Product sales | Quantity sold, sales before discounts and tax, discounts, taxes and sales after discounts and tax for each product name and SKU, as a bar chart. |
Zid adds more ready-made reports over time, so your list can hold others, such as top customers or coupon performance.
Pin a report
Hover a report card and click the pin icon to pin it to the top of the page. Click it again to unpin it. The dashboard confirms with The report has been successfully pinned or The report has been successfully unpinned.
Create a report
Go to Analytics > Reports and click Create.
In Create report, enter the Report name in English, Arabic or both. At least one language is required.

Sample data from a demo store. Click Save. The new report opens with a first metric selected and the Last 30 days range, ready for you to configure.
Configure a report
A report page has three parts: Report configurator, Visualization and the data table. The report runs again each time you change a setting, and the page description shows when it last ran.

Pick the date range
Use the date field in Report configurator. The presets are Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 14 days, Last 30 days, Last 60 days, Last 90 days, This month, Last month, This quarter, Last quarter, This year and Last year. With a "Last" days preset selected, tick Include today to count today, or clear it to end the range yesterday. A saved preset moves with time: a report saved with Last 30 days always shows the most recent 30 days. A custom range can cover up to 365 days; a longer range shows Please select a valid date range.
Choose metrics
Metric holds what you measure. Metrics include, for example, quantity sold, number of times sold, total product sales, total tax, average order value, orders, and total sales with discounts and tax.
Click the Metric field. The Select metric list opens, grouped by category.
Search in Search by categories or metrics, then select up to five metrics.
Close the list to run the report.
Metrics that can't be combined with the ones you already picked are marked Not compatible and can't be selected.

Split by dimensions
Dimensions splits each metric into rows, such as by shipping city, sales channel, order date by day, product name, product SKU or payment method. Only dimensions that work with your metrics are listed, and the field is disabled until you choose a metric. Changing the metrics clears the dimensions.
Filter the data
Click Add filter and choose a field in Select filter.

Sample data from a demo store. Pick a Condition: is, is not, greater than, greater than or equal to, less than, less than or equal to, between, in or not in. The conditions offered depend on the field.
Enter or select the Value. For between, enter From and To. For in and not in, enter several values separated by commas.
Click Apply. The filter appears as a chip; click the chip to edit it or its remove icon to delete it.
When a report returns more than 1,000 rows, it shows the first 1,000 and a warning to refine your filters.
Compare with a past period
In Report configurator, change No comparison to Comparison to past. A second date field opens.
Pick a preset or your own range. The presets are Previous period (the same number of days just before your range), Previous week, Previous month, Previous year and Prev. year (DoW), which matches the same weekdays a year earlier. The comparison range must end before your main range starts, so presets that would overlap it aren't offered.
The table and charts now show each value with its comparison value. In a pie chart, the two periods appear side by side.

If you later move the main range so it overlaps the comparison, the dashboard asks to reset the comparison before continuing. Choose No comparison to turn comparison off.
Visualize the results
In Visualization, choose how to show the data:
| Option | Shows |
|---|---|
| Table only | The data table without a chart. |
| Bar chart | One bar for each dimension value. |
| Line chart | A line across the dimension values, useful for dates. |
| Pie chart | Each dimension value's share of the total. |
| Number | A large figure for each metric. Available only when the report has no dimensions. |
Next to the chart type, choose the metric and dimension the chart plots. Use the arrow button on the right to collapse or expand the chart.
Read the data table
The table lists a column for each dimension and metric, with a totals row that stays visible as you scroll. Select the display settings icon (Display settings) in the table toolbar to:
Group by one of the report's dimensions, or choose No grouping. The grouped column moves first, and rows with the same value stay together, with the value shown once for each group. This option appears when the report has two or more dimensions, and starts on the first dimension.
Under Order results, choose a column, or Default order, and use the arrow button beside it to switch between Ascending and Descending. Grouped rows are ordered within their group.
Select Reset to clear the order and restore the default grouping.
Grouping isn't saved with the report and doesn't change the chart, the totals or the exported file.
Save, rename and delete reports

Save and Refresh sit at the top of the report. Export, Rename, Delete and Submit Feedback are in the menu button next to Refresh.
Save stores the current date range, metrics, dimensions, filters, comparison and visualization. It's available once you change something. For a report created by Zid, Save opens Save as new report, where you name your own copy; Zid's original stays unchanged.
Rename changes the report's name. Renaming a Zid report creates a copy with the new name.
Delete removes a report you created, after you confirm in Delete report. This can't be undone. Zid's reports can't be deleted.
Refresh runs the report again with the latest data.
If you leave a report with unsaved changes, You have unsaved changes asks whether to Stay or Leave.
Export a report
Open the menu next to Refresh and click Export to download the data table as a CSV file. The file is named after the report and its date range, and has a column for each dimension and metric. With comparison on, each column is followed by its comparison column. Export is disabled while the report has no rows.
Send feedback about reports
Click Submit Feedback on the reports list, or in the menu next to Refresh on a report. In Suggest an improvement, choose a Feedback type (Problem or Suggestion), describe it in Description and send it.
