Delivery zones

Zones define the areas you serve and link each area to the inventory locations that ship to it and the shipping methods customers can choose there. The customer's location decides which zones serve them, which controls the delivery options and badges they see at checkout. Open them from Logistics > Zones; the page is titled Zones.

Zones are rolling out gradually. If Zones isn't in your Logistics menu, the feature isn't available for your store yet, and the page shows This feature is not available. Staff members need the permission to view shipping and delivery to see zones, and to manage shipping and delivery to create, edit, enable, disable or delete them.

Select cities (city zones)

Choose one or more Countries, then, for each country, select its cities in Select cities. Select all adds every city of that country.

Select the inventory location

Pick the warehouse the zone ships from. Isodistance and aerial zones use exactly one location; city zones can use several. For aerial zones, enter the Maximum distance you deliver to, between 0.1 and 500 km.

Choose shipping methods

The Shipping methods step lists the methods you can link, each with its starting price, such as Starting from, and, for road-distance zones, how far it reaches (Up to a number of kilometers). Your own delivery options carry a Local delivery badge. Select a method to see its details:

  • Overview: coverage, rate and service details.

  • Edit Price: the price customers pay in this zone. Choose Flat rate, Weight-based pricing or, in road-distance zones, Distance-based pricing (a Base price up to a Max distance for base price, plus an Additional price per km). You can also turn on cash on delivery, set the Maximum distance for local delivery, and add Notes in Arabic and English (up to 160 characters) that customers see at checkout. Reset to default rate brings back the method's default price. When you save a price change, Zid asks you to confirm with Save Edits.

  • Delivery note: for your own delivery options, the same delivery note settings as on the local delivery page.

  • FAQs: common questions about the method.

If you don't have a suitable local delivery option, use Create Local Delivery to create one without leaving the zone. Enter its Shipping name and price; you can customize its delivery time slots after creation.

A shipping method can be active in more than one zone. Zid warns you with Activate in multiple zones? and lets you Activate anyway or Confirm and activate. When zones overlap at the customer's location, the customer sees the lowest shipping price among the matching zones.

Set the shipping price (aerial zones)

Aerial zones create their own delivery option. Enter its Shipping name in your store's languages, choose the pricing model and price, turn on cash on delivery if you accept it, and add optional notes for customers (up to 160 characters per language).

Edit, disable or delete a zone

Open a zone's menu in the list:

  • Edit zone opens the same steps with your saved values. You can't change the zone type, and for isodistance and aerial zones the inventory location is fixed, because quick delivery zones can have only one inventory center point. On the last step, select Edit to save.

  • Disable zone or Enable zone turns the zone off or on after you confirm.

  • Delete zone removes the zone after you confirm.

When editing a city zone, the Inventory location card lists each linked location with its Inventory, Radius and Status. Use Add inventory to link more locations, or remove one after confirming.
