POS invoice templates

Invoice templates decide what the invoices issued by Zid POS show: store details, invoice and payment information, customer and cashier details, product lines, tax details and your own messages. You can keep several templates, for example one per branch or a seasonal one, and assign each to inventory locations. Open them from Channels > POS > Settings > Invoice templates.

Invoice templates need the staff permission to manage POS invoice templates. On the free POS Go plan, the page is locked with Not available in your plan and POS Go uses default invoices. See POS Go and POS Pro plans.

Review your invoice templates

The Invoice templates page lists your templates. Search by template name or ID above the table.

Create an invoice template

  1. Go to Channels > POS > Settings > Invoice templates.

  2. Click Add template. The template editor opens, with the settings on one side and a live preview of the tax invoice on the other.

  3. Under Info, fill in:

    • Template name: required, for example Ramadan template.

    • Inventory location: required. Pick at least one location whose invoices use this template.

  4. Under Customize, go through the Header, Body and Footer tabs and tick the fields to show, as described below.

  5. Click Save. The template is saved as active and you return to the templates list.

While editing, use the undo and redo arrows to step through your changes, and Reset to discard all unsaved changes. If you leave the editor with unsaved changes, the dashboard asks you to confirm.

Rules for the text fields:

  • Return & Exchange policy starts with the return policy from your store's legal pages. Its text is required while the field is ticked.

  • Custom fields needs both a label and a value while it's ticked.

  • Store name, Bottom text (for example Powered by Zid) and Store message (for example Thank you for visiting) are optional. Each text field has a Reset button that restores its saved text.

Tick Vat number and ZATCA QR code if your store is registered for VAT, so your POS invoices carry the details tax invoices need. See ZATCA integration.

Edit, deactivate or delete a template

  • To edit a template, click View in its row, make your changes and click Save. The editor shows Updated date at the top.

  • To stop using a template without deleting it, turn off its switch in Activate.
