Market Pulse

The Market Pulse group in Zid Insights compares your store with similar stores and with the national market. Open Analytics > Zid Insights and pick an analysis in the Market Pulse section.

Every analysis starts with AI summary cards that explain what stands out. Analyses that compare you with similar stores show Compared against: with the group of stores used; click Change category if it doesn't match what you sell. See Change the stores you are compared with.

Market Pulse is part of the Zid Insights subscription. Market figures combine anonymous data from stores in your industry with national data sources, which each chart names in a Source: chip. Your own numbers come from your store.

Market Position

Market Position shows how big your sector is, how much of it you hold and how your key numbers compare with similar stores. It has three parts.

Where do you stand?

A chart of total spending in your sector across Saudi Arabia, the estimated online share of it and your store's sales over the last 12 months, with your share of each stage. The bars aren't drawn to scale so every stage stays visible; the numbers above them are the real values. This part appears only when national data for your sector is available.

Is your share of the market growing?

Your share of all online sales in your sector, month by month, with your current share and your rank, written as "You sell more than N of every 100 stores like yours". Switch between Chart and Table, and click Export to download the monthly shares as a CSV file.

How do you compare with similar stores?

Your main numbers compared with the average of stores like yours:

ColumnWhat it shows
MetricThe number being compared, such as average order value.
Compared with averageHow far above or below the average you are, as a percentage.
StatusAbove average, About average or Below average.

Pick a period of Last 30 days, Last 60 days, Last 90 days (the default), Last 180 days or Last 365 days. If there isn't enough data, try a longer period. Under Where you can improve, buttons such as Review checkout settings, Review orders or Create Bundle Offer take you to the page where you can act.

Market Trends answers How Is Your Industry Moving? by comparing your sales growth with your market's, month by month.

  • In the chart, purple columns are your sales each month and grey columns are how much the market grew that month.

  • A summary sentence compares your last three months with the three before: Doing better than the market, Moving with the market or Doing worse than the market, with how much your sales and the market rose or fell.

  • The table lists, for each month, Your growth, Estimated industry growth, Sector growth across Saudi Arabia and your share of online sales in your sector.

You need at least six months of sales for the comparison. Click Export to download the monthly figures.

Price Positioning

Price Positioning shows whether your prices are above or below the market, so you can price with confidence.

Your prices compared with the market

For each product category, the chart and table compare your average price with the typical price in your sector. A summary counts how many categories are above, close to and below the market.

Typical market priceThe typical price for the category in your sector.
Compared with marketThe difference from the typical price, as a percentage.

In the chart, the dashed line marks the typical price, and each bar shows how far your price is from it.

Products worth a second look

Products priced 50% or more above or below similar products in the market, with Your price, Typical market price and Difference from typical price. Check that these prices are intentional. When none are that far off, the card shows Your prices are close to the market.

Price changes in your sector and cities

Are prices rising in your sector? shows how prices in your sector changed each year across Saudi Arabia, and How prices changed in each city shows the rise in prices by city. When prices rise across the market, you have more room to adjust yours; shoppers in cities where prices rose more tend to watch prices closely.

Store Reputation

Store Reputation brings your Google presence into one place: your Google Maps rating and reviews, how you appear when people search for your brand, who competes with you and how interest in your brand changes.

The first time you open it, Zid Insights looks for your store on Google Maps:

  1. If it found a business, check it in Is this your business? and click Yes, this is my store, or No, this is not my store.

  2. If it found nothing or you said no, search by the name your store has on Google Maps and click Select next to the right result.

  3. If your store isn't listed, click My store isn't on Google Maps. You can link a business later with Link a business.

If your store has no listing, No Google Maps listing found suggests that you claim your Google Business Profile so you appear in search results and collect reviews.

Read your ratings and reviews

Your store on Google shows your Google rating, number of reviews and branches. Below it:

  • Rating distribution and Positive, neutral and negative reviews break down your reviews.

  • What customers mention lists the topics customers bring up, with What customers love and What needs attention.

  • Recent Reviews lists the latest reviews with Author, Rating, Review and Date. Filter by Branch to see one branch.

To fix which branches count, click Manage branches, then Add branch or Remove branch; Google may not group branches with different names. To link a different business, click Change business and confirm; the current business is unlinked and you can search again.

See how people find your brand

  • Brand search visibility: your Rank when people search your brand on Google, with the results that appear.

  • Who competes with you: stores that show up on Google for your search terms, with Website, Found in and your Rank among competitors.

  • Brand search interest: how often people searched for your brand over the past 12 months. Values are relative: 100 is your busiest week.

  • Brand vs Product Demand: your brand search interest compared with demand for your products.

  • What people search for: Top search queries and Rising product searches used alongside your brand name.
