Connect Meta, TikTok, Snapchat and X pixels to your Zid store
A pixel tells an advertising platform what visitors do in your store after they see or click your ads: which products they view, what they add to the cart and what they buy. The platform uses it to measure your campaigns, build retargeting audiences and show your ads to people more likely to buy. A conversions API sends the same events from Zid's servers, so they still count when a browser blocks the pixel.
You find these apps in the App market under the Tracking & Attribution category, or by searching for the platform's name.
| App | What it adds to your store | What you enter in Zid |
|---|---|---|
| Meta pixel | The Meta pixel for Facebook and Instagram ads | Your pixel ID |
| Meta conversion API | Meta's Conversions API, alongside the pixel | An access token from Meta |
| TikTok pixel | The TikTok pixel | Your pixel ID |
| TikTok conversion API | The TikTok pixel with its Events API | An access token from TikTok |
| X pixel | The X (Twitter) website tag | Your pixel ID |
| OpenAI Ads | The OpenAI pixel for ChatGPT ads, with its Conversions API | Your pixel ID, and optionally a Conversions API key |
| Snapchat Ads | The Snap pixel and Conversions API, through your Snap account | Nothing: you sign in to Snapchat from the app |
Before you start
Create an ad account on the platform, if you don't have one, and open its events manager, where pixels are created and managed.
For catalog and shopping ads, create a product feed for the platform on the SEO page. The feed sends your product names, prices, images and stock to the platform.
Activate Meta pixel before Meta conversion API, which needs it.
Meta conversion API is available on the Growth, Professional and Enterprise plans, as its page in the App Market says.
Activate a pixel app
Every app in the table except Snapchat Ads works the same way in Zid: you paste one code from the platform, and Zid adds the pixel to every page of your store. Snapchat Ads connects through your Snap account instead: see Connect Snapchat Ads.
Open the app's page from the App Market, then click Activate at the top. The page scrolls to the activation card: Product catalog integration for the Meta, TikTok and X pixels, App activation for the others.
If the card shows Get your feed link in Product Feeds, click it to create the product feed you add in the platform's catalog.
Enter the code from the platform in Account code. The field's example shows what the code looks like.
Click Activate. The card shows Activated, and the app appears in My apps.
To replace the code later, click Edit on the card, change Account code in Edit app activation, and click Save.
Find the code each platform gives you
Each platform has its own guide, with every step and screenshot:
| Platform | Guide |
|---|---|
| Meta | Connect the Meta pixel and Conversions API, with team access |
| TikTok | Connect the TikTok pixel and Events API |
| Snapchat | Connect Snapchat Ads |
| X and OpenAI | Below |
X pixel
The X pixel, formerly the Twitter pixel, measures the effect of your X ads across devices: how many people take an action in your store after they see an ad.
You copy two things from X: your pixel ID, which activates the app, and an event ID for each event you want X to count. The event IDs are optional.
Sign in to X Ads Manager with your X account.
In the menu on the left, choose Events manager under Tools.
If you don't have a pixel yet, click Add event source, then Website pixel. Choosing it accepts X's ad terms and creates your pixel.
Copy your pixel ID: the 5 letters and digits next to X Pixel, above the events table.

Create one event in X for each field in this table:
| Field in Zid | Event type in X |
|---|---|
| Purchase event ID | Purchase |
| Add to cart event ID | Add to cart |
| Page view event ID | Page view |
| Content view event ID | Page view, named Content view, since X has no content view type |
| Added payment info event ID | Added payment info |
Click Add event, enter a name, choose the type in Event type, keep Define with code selected, and click Create event.
X shows the event's code in Install event. Copy the event ID: the text that starts with
tw-on thetwq('event'line.

In Zid, open the X pixel app from the App Market and click Activate. On the Product catalog integration card, paste the pixel ID in Account code and each event ID in its field, then click Activate.

If the app is already active, click Edit on the card, add the event IDs in Edit app activation, and click Save.
Each event ID starts with tw- and your pixel ID, so the field shows an error for an ID from another pixel. Without event IDs, X records only visits to your store. To find an event's ID later, click View install code on its row in Events manager.
OpenAI Ads
In OpenAI Ads Manager, create a data source for conversions and copy its pixel ID.
In the same data source, you can also create a Conversions API key. It's optional, and lets your store send events from its server too.
Paste the pixel ID in Account code and the key in OpenAI Conversions API key, then click Activate.
You can add or change the key later by editing the activation. See Activate a code-based app or pixel.
Check that the pixel works
Visit your store, view a product and add it to the cart. The events appear in the platform's events manager, sometimes after a few minutes.
Meta and TikTok offer browser extensions, Meta Pixel Helper and TikTok Pixel Helper, that show which events a page sends.
TikTok's events manager has a tool for testing Events API events.
If the events don't appear
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| No events at all | You pasted the whole code instead of the ID or token. Click Edit on the card and enter only the code. |
| Events go to the wrong pixel | The ID belongs to another dataset or ad account. Copy it again from the pixel your campaigns use. |
| Conversions API events don't arrive | The token expired or was revoked. Generate a new one and save it in the app. |
| Products are rejected in the catalog | Some products miss details the platform requires, such as an image. Fix them in your dashboard. |
