App details and installation
Every app in the App Market has its own page, titled Overview, where you learn what the app does, check what data it can access, and install it. Open it by clicking an app card in the App market or an app in My apps.
What the app page shows
The app's icon, name and pricing, a gallery of screenshots or a video, a short description, the developer (By: followed by the name) and the app's category.
Three tabs:
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| App details | The developer's full description of the app. |
| Contact details | How to reach the developer: Email, Phone, Website, FAQ URL, Support channel and Privacy Policy URL. |
| Ratings & reviews | The overall rating and merchants' reviews. All reviews shows every review, and Rate lets you add yours once you have installed the app. |
A Subscription card with your current plan, or the app's plans when you haven't subscribed. See App plans and subscriptions.
Suggested apps at the bottom.
Buttons at the top of the page
| Button | When it appears and what it does |
|---|---|
| Open App | The app is installed. Embedded apps open inside the dashboard; the others open the developer's site in a new tab. |
| Activate | The app isn't installed and is free, or you already subscribed to a plan. For code-based apps, it scrolls to the activation card. |
| Subscribe | The app has paid plans and you haven't subscribed. It scrolls to the plans. |
| Upgrade plan | You have a subscription and a higher plan is available. It opens the app's plans page. |
| Deactivate | The app is installed. See Deactivate an app. |
| Report | You have used the app. It reports a problem with the app to Zid. |
Up to two of these appear as buttons; the others move into the more menu (⋮) beside them.
Install an app
Apps that connect to your store through Zid ask for your approval of the data they can access.
On the app's page, click Activate for a free app, or choose a plan in the plans card for a paid one (see App plans and subscriptions).
A dialog titled Activate followed by the app's name opens. It shows the developer and lists the data the app will be able to access, such as orders, products or customers, with the access level for each.
Review the list. By continuing, you agree to these permissions and to the terms and conditions of the Zid App Market.
Click Activate application for a free plan or a free trial, or Continue to payment for a paid plan, and pay on the checkout page.
The app's own setup page opens in a new tab when the app needs more setup. Follow its steps to finish.
Click Cancel to close the dialog without installing.
Some apps need a higher Zid plan. When yours isn't eligible, choosing a plan shows an upgrade message with the plan you need. Apps that work with Mazeed need your store to be activated on Mazeed first: the Mazeed Activation Required dialog offers Activate Mazeed. See Mazeed.
Activate a code-based app or pixel
Some apps, such as advertising pixels, work by adding a code to your store instead of connecting through Zid. Their page has an activation card instead of plans.
On the app's page, click Activate at the top, or scroll to the App activation card. Pixel apps show Product catalog integration instead.
For pixel apps that need your product catalog, click Get your feed link in Product Feeds to create the feed link on the SEO page and add it in the advertising platform.
Enter your Account code, which you get from the app's platform, as described in the card.
Click Activate. The card then shows Activated.
To change the code later, click Edit on the card, update the Account code in Edit app activation, and click Save.
To find the code each platform gives you, see Connect Meta, TikTok, Snapchat and X pixels, Connect Google Analytics and Tag Manager, Connect Clarity, Hotjar, Crazy Egg, Contentsquare and Smartarget and Add live chat and WhatsApp buttons.
For the OpenAI pixel, you can also add an OpenAI Conversions API key (optional). Once saved, only its last characters are shown. To keep it, leave the field empty when editing; to delete it, click Remove key.
Open an embedded app
Embedded apps open inside your dashboard so you can work in them without leaving Zid or switching to the developer's own control panel. You manage all the app's settings and data from one place, in an interface that fits your store. App cards in the App Market mark them with the Embedded tag.
Click Open App on the app's page, the app's card in My apps, or the app's name under My apps in the sidebar. The app fills the page, with an App details button at the top that returns to the app's page.

Opening embedded apps needs the staff permission to view embedded apps.
When an app's permissions change
If an app's developer updates the data the app can access, a dialog appears the next time you open the app or its page. It lists the new permissions.
Click Continue allowing access to accept them.
Click Deactivate app to remove the app instead. If the app has an unpaid charge, you have to pay it before you can deactivate.
Report a problem with an app
On the app's page, click Report.
In Report this application, choose the Issue type, such as an installation problem, the app not working as expected, or the developer not responding.
Describe the problem in Issue details.
Optionally, attach one PNG, PDF, JPEG or JPG file of up to 5 MB.
Click Save.
