Edit an order

Edit an order when a customer asks for a change before it ships: add or remove products, change quantities, apply a discount code, or update the payment method, shipping method, address, customer or recipient. Open the order from Orders > All orders and select Edit order.

When you can edit an order

  • The order is New or Preparing. In some stores, a Ready Zid Logistics order can also be edited after its shipping label is cancelled, as long as no courier has been assigned to it yet. See Cancel a shipping label.

  • The order is not a reseller order.

  • You have the staff permission to edit orders.

When the order cannot be edited, the Edit order button is disabled.

Your plan may limit how many times one order can be edited: on the Starter and Rise plans, an order can be edited up to three times, and the other plans have no limit. When you reach the limit, selecting Edit order shows an upgrade message instead. See Subscription.

Edit an order step by step

  1. Open the order and select Edit order. The page title reads Edit order # followed by the order number.

  2. Make your changes in the sections below.

  3. Select Save at the top of the page.

  4. Read the confirmation and confirm.

Your changes apply to the order only when you save. The confirmation reminds you that the customer is notified by email and, if your plan limits edits, how many edits each order allows.

If the order is paid by payment link, the confirmation also tells you when the link will not be updated: when the order is already paid, when the new total is less than 1 in the order's currency, or when the link was cancelled or has expired.

Products

The Products card lists the order's products with their Price, Quantity, Weight and Total.

Under the products, enter a code in Add a marketing code and select Add to apply a coupon. Select the delete icon next to an applied coupon to take it off. The financial summary updates with each change. Select Show financial details to see the full breakdown.

Payment method

In the Payment method card, choose a method in Choose payment method and select Edit.

Shipping details

The Shipping details card shows Deliver from and Deliver to. To change the delivery address, select Edit under Deliver to and fill in Recipient address:

Select Save in the dialog.

Shipping method

  1. In the Shipping method card, choose Delivery to site or Pickup from location. An option is disabled when no method of that type is available for the order.

  2. Choose the method in Shipping method.

  3. If the method delivers to a pickup point, Select a pickup point opens. Choose the branch and select Confirm. The method field shows the branch's address, and Edit stays disabled until you choose a branch. To change the branch, choose the same method again.

  4. For a Zid Logistics delivery method, enter the Number of boxes under Specify the number of boxes included in the shipment. The note under the field shows the most boxes the method accepts.

  5. Select Edit.

The Shipping method card with Delivery to site selected, the method list, the Number of boxes field and the Edit button
Personal details are covered.

The list offers only the methods that can deliver to the order's address. If the customer gave you a new address, for example in another city, change the address under Shipping details first, then choose a method that serves it.

If none of your shipping companies serves the new address, the list shows only your own delivery methods that do, such as a local courier, when they are active. If no method serves the address at all, you can deliver the order yourself without a linked shipping company, or cancel the order, reactivate it and prepare it again, then issue a new label.

Stores registered as charities do not see the shipping method card.

Customer and recipient

CardWhat you can change
Customer detailsSelect Edit to open Edit customer information and change the Name, Email and Phone. All three are required.
Customer notesSelect Edit under the note to change the note on the order
Recipient detailsSelect Edit to open Edit recipient information and change the recipient's Name, Email and Phone. The email is optional.

Orders paid in installments

When the order was paid with MISPay installments, the page shows You can only modify the recipient's details and shipping information because the payment method for this order is in installments. The products, payment method and customer note cannot be changed.

Regenerate a Zid Logistics label

If you edit a Ready Zid Logistics order whose label was cancelled, selecting Save opens Update shipping label?. Select Save and generate label to save your changes and issue the new label at once. After the label is issued, the shipment is confirmed and you can no longer edit the order.

After you save

The order page opens with your changes. If the new total is higher than what the customer paid, the order page shows Additional amount added with Generate payment link, so you can collect the difference. See Order details.

If the order was already paid, its invoice stays as it was issued, and Zid adds a credit or debit note for the difference. See Credit and debit notes.

When you remove products from an order paid with Tabby or Tamara, refund the difference to the customer with Refund on the order's payment card. The button appears once the provider allows the refund. See Refund a payment.

You can't add products that raise a Tabby or Tamara order above its original total. With Tamara, you refund a delivered order directly; for an order that isn't delivered yet, edit it first to remove products or lower its total.
