Shipping and payment constraints
A constraint hides shipping or payment methods at checkout when an order meets conditions you set: for example, hiding cash on delivery above a cart amount, or a shipping company for certain cities. Manage constraints in Settings > General > Shipping and payment constraints. You can also open it from the Logistics page: select Settings, then Customize on the Shipping constraints card. See Logistics settings.
Constraints are available on the Growth, Professional and Enterprise plans. Without them, Create constraint is disabled and the list shows an upgrade screen. To open the page, a staff member needs the permission to view shipping and payment constraints. To create, edit, delete or switch constraints on and off, they need the permission to manage them.
The constraints list
The list has two tabs: Shipping constraints and Payment constraints. Search by name with Search by constraint name.

| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Constraint name | The constraint's name. Select it to open the constraint. |
| Number of shipping options or Number of payment options | How many shipping or payment methods the constraint hides. |
| Number of conditions | How many conditions the constraint has. |
| Status | A switch that turns the constraint on or off. |
Each row also has Edit and Delete. Deleting asks you to confirm.
Create a constraint
Open the Shipping constraints or Payment constraints tab. The new constraint takes the type of the open tab.
Select Create constraint. The page Manage shipping constraint or Manage payment constraint opens.

Sample data from a demo store. In the Shipping options card (or Payment options for a payment constraint):
Enter the Constraint name.
Choose the methods to hide. Shipping constraints list your active shipping methods, and payment constraints list your payment methods.
Leave Activate constraint on to apply the constraint as soon as you save.

Sample data from a demo store. In the Conditions card, select Add condition, choose a condition from the list and fill in its values. Add as many conditions as you need.
Optionally, set a custom error message (see below).
Select Save.
All the conditions must be met in the cart for the constraint to apply. If one condition is not met, the methods stay visible.
Each condition can be added once per constraint. To remove a condition, select its delete icon; a constraint keeps at least one condition. You can create as many constraints as you need.
Conditions you can add
Conditions that use a list let you choose between two options: one that matches only the items you pick ("Specific ..."), and one that matches everything except the items you pick ("All ... except").
| Condition | What you set |
|---|---|
| Cart total | Cart minimum price and Cart maximum price. |
| Cart weight | Cart minimum weight and Cart maximum weight, in kg. |
| Products | Specific products or All products except specific products, then Add product. |
| Product categories | Specific categories or All categories except specific categories, then Add category. |
| Product quantity | Products minimum quantity and Products maximum quantity. |
| Product type | Specific product type or All product types except specific product type, then choose Product, Digital product or Group product. |
| Coupons | Specific discount codes or All discount codes except specific discount codes, then choose coupons. |
| Sales channels | Specific sales channel or All sales channels except specific sales channel, then choose Store or Store app. |
| Order time | Selected days (choose the days of the week) and Selected hours (Start time of the condition and End time of the condition). |
| Customer location | Specific country and city or All countries and cities except specific country or city, then the Country and City. |
| Customer groups | Specific customer groups or All customer groups except specific customer group, then choose groups. |
| Customer's total orders | Customer total orders is equal to or less than a number. |
| Customer's cancelled orders | Customer cancelled orders is equal to or more than a number. |
| Customer's incomplete COD orders | Customer incomplete COD orders is equal to or more than a number. |
| Customer's incomplete orders | Customer incomplete orders is equal to or more than a number. |
The customer order count conditions help reduce risky cash on delivery orders. For example, hide cash on delivery for customers whose cancelled orders, or incomplete cash on delivery orders, reach a number you choose. With the customer's total orders condition, you can also keep cash on delivery from new customers until they have placed a few orders.
Examples
Hide bank transfer for mid-range carts
Open the Payment constraints tab and select Create constraint.
Name the constraint, for example "Bank transfer", and choose bank transfer in Payment options.
Add the cart total condition with Cart minimum price 100 and Cart maximum price 300.
Select Save.

A customer whose cart totals between 100 and 300 riyals doesn't see bank transfer at checkout:

When the cart goes above 300 riyals, bank transfer appears again:

Hide a shipping company for one product
Create a shipping constraint that hides Red Box, and add the products condition with Specific products and the product, such as a multi-colored keychain. When that product is in the cart, checkout shows every active shipping method except Red Box.

Show a custom error message
When a constraint leaves a customer with no shipping or payment method, you can show them your own message at checkout.
In the Custom error message card, turn on Enable custom message.

Sample data from a demo store. Write the message in each of your store's languages. Customers see it in the language they shop in.
Select Save.
Edit, pause or delete a constraint
To edit a constraint, select its name or Edit, change it, then select Save.
To pause or resume a constraint, use the Status switch in its row.
To delete a constraint, select Delete in its row and confirm.
