Team members
Team members are the staff who sign in to your dashboard, each with only the permissions you give them. You can also add point of sale cashiers here. Manage your team in Settings > Store > Team. The page title shows how many seats you use out of your plan's limit, for example Team members (3/10).

To open the team page, a staff member needs the permission to view or manage users. To add, edit or delete team members, they need the permission to manage users. The number of team members depends on your plan.
The team list
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name and Permissions | The member's name, a few of their permissions, and how many more they have. |
| Status | Active or Inactive. |
| Email and Mobile | The member's email address and mobile number. |
Each row has Delete and Edit. The buttons at the top are Create, Groups (see Team groups and audit log) and a more menu with Audit Log.

Add a team member
Select Create.
In Team member details, fill in the fields below.

Sample data from a demo store. In the permissions card, choose what the member can do (see Choose permissions).
Select Save.
A confirmation tells you the user invitation has been sent, and the member appears in the list. The member gets an email from Zid at the address you entered, with a password to sign in to your dashboard. They can change their password later in Account settings.
| Field | Rules |
|---|---|
| Name | Required. |
| Permission groups | The groups the member belongs to. A member gets every permission of their groups. See Team groups. |
| Required, a valid email address. | |
| Phone | Required, a valid mobile number. |
| POS cashier user | Shown if you use Zid POS. Makes the member a cashier in the POS app. Depends on your plan. |
| Password | Shown for POS cashiers: the passcode they use in the POS app, 4 to 20 characters. Select the refresh icon to generate one. |
| Assigned inventories / branches | Shown when staff can be linked to locations: the inventories or branches the member works in. |
To add a cashier for Zid POS, enter the employee's name and select POS cashier user. A passcode is generated in Password automatically, and the member is added as a cashier.

To add a new member to a group, save the member first, then open them again and choose the group in Permission groups, or add them from the group's Users field.
Seats and your plan
A member counts as a seated user once they have any dashboard permission, and seats are limited by your plan. When you reach the limit, saving a new member opens an upgrade message. To add more members, upgrade your plan or buy extra team members as an add-on. See Buy add-ons. Cashiers who only have POS app permissions do not use a seat, and they don't count as team members unless you give them a dashboard permission.
As a guide, Zid Lite includes one member (the main account), Growth five members and Professional 20 members, each including the main account. Your own limit is the second number in the page title.
Choose permissions
The permissions card lists permissions in sections, such as orders, products or settings. If you use Zid POS, it has two tabs: Dashboard permissions and POS app permissions (ZidPOS). A counter shows how many permissions are selected out of the total, for example 5 of 120.

Select Grant full permission to give every dashboard permission at once.
Select a section's checkbox to give all its permissions, or expand it to pick single permissions.
When you select a permission, the permissions it relies on are selected with it. When you clear one, the permissions that rely on it are cleared too.
The POS app permissions (ZidPOS) tab works the same way for the cashier app, and is available when your plan includes POS users.
For a summary of what each permission area covers, see Staff permissions. Zid Payments access, for example, is in the payments section: viewing Zid Payments, its deposits, transactions and payment links, managing payment links and Zid Payments settings, requesting refunds and editing the IBAN.
Edit a team member
Select the member's name or Edit in their row.
Change their details, groups or permissions.
Select Save.
If you remove a permission the member got from a group, saving asks you to confirm in Remove from groups: the member will be removed from all their groups and keep the permissions you selected. Select Confirm to continue.
Delete a team member
Select Delete in the member's row.
Confirm that you want to delete the team member.
Assign team members to inventories or branches
When staff can be linked to inventory locations, the list lets you select members.
Select the members in the list.
From the bulk actions, choose Assign to inventory / branch.
In Assign team members to inventories / branches, choose the Assigned inventories / branches.
Select Save.
