Offer free shipping
Free shipping in Zid is a discount: you create a discount that waives the shipping fee, and decide when it applies, such as from a cart amount, in some cities or with some shipping methods. Shipping methods themselves have no free shipping switch. You can start a free shipping offer from Logistics > Settings > Free shipping conditions, from the Free shipping offer card on the Marketing page, or from Marketing > Discounts > Create.
You need permission to manage discounts.
Ways to offer free shipping
| Way | Who gets it | When | Shipping methods | Combines with |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Automatic free shipping offer | Every customer whose cart meets its rules | As soon as the cart qualifies, with no code | All, unless you add a Shipping methods condition | A progressive discount; not with a discount code |
| Discount code with free shipping | Customers who enter the code | When the customer enters the code and the cart meets its rules | All, unless you add a Shipping methods condition | Not with an automatic discount |
| Abandoned cart reminder with free shipping | Customers who left a cart | When they come back and enter the free shipping code from the reminder | As set in the coupon | As for any discount code. See Abandoned cart reminders. |
| A shipping price of 0 on a zone | Customers in that zone's cities | Always, on that method only | The method whose zone you set | Any discount, since there is no shipping fee to waive |
Bank discounts and progressive discounts give money off only, never free shipping. Apps such as Ziadah can show customers how far their cart is from a free shipping goal.
Create a free shipping offer
Open Logistics, select Settings, then select Customize on Free shipping conditions.

Personal details are covered. A new discount opens with the Free shipping offer template filled in: it applies automatically, gives Free shipping and no products discount, and starts from a Minimum purchase amount of 150 in your store's currency.
Change the Name if you like. Customers don't see it.
Under Settings, change Minimum purchase amount to the cart amount you want. It counts the products in the cart, including VAT.
Optionally, set the limits and conditions described below.
Check the Sales channels. The template turns on the online store only; turn on Merchant App to offer free shipping in your mobile app too.
Select Create.
The Free shipping offer card on the Marketing page (Create offer) and the Free shipping offer template under Marketing > Discounts > Create open the same form.
To give free shipping with a code instead, choose Code under Applied method and enter the code. You can also turn on Free shipping in any discount, alongside Products discount. See Create a discount code.
Choose who gets free shipping
| To | Set |
|---|---|
| Offer it from a cart amount | Minimum purchase amount |
| Stop it above a cart amount | Maximum purchase amount |
| Keep heavy orders out | Maximum weight (in grams), for example 5000 for orders up to 5 kilograms. Available only when Free shipping is on. |
| Offer it in some cities or countries only | A Customer locations condition |
| Offer it to some customers only | A Customer groups condition, such as your VIP group |
| Offer it on some shipping methods only | A Shipping methods condition: include the methods that get free shipping, or exclude the ones that don't |
| Offer it only with some payment methods | A Payment methods condition |
| Limit how many times it's used | Total usage limit and Limit per customer |
With several conditions, Strict (all conditions) gives free shipping only when the cart meets every condition, and Flexible (any condition) when it meets at least one. See Conditions.
For example, to offer free shipping in Riyadh on orders of 200 riyals or more, with one carrier only: set Minimum purchase amount to 200, add a Customer locations condition with Riyadh and a Shipping methods condition that includes the carrier, and keep Strict (all conditions).
When free shipping meets other discounts
A cart takes one discount by default, but an automatic free shipping offer is an exception:
An automatic free shipping offer and a progressive discount both apply.
A discount code and an automatic discount don't add up, so a customer who enters a code doesn't also get an automatic free shipping offer.
An automatic free shipping offer applies whether Activate multiple discounts is on or off.
Wallet credit pays for products only, never for shipping, and works alongside free shipping offers.
What customers see
With an automatic offer, the customer pays no shipping fee as soon as the order meets its rules, without typing a code. With a code, the shipping fee is waived once the customer enters the code at checkout and the order meets its rules.
Free shipping waives the shipping fee only. A customer who pays cash on delivery still pays its fee, unless the discount also gives Free cash on delivery.
What free shipping costs you
Free shipping changes what the customer pays, not what you pay for the shipment:
| Delivery | What you pay |
|---|---|
| Zid Ship | The method's rate, deducted from your Zid wallet when the order is ready, or one label from a label package, plus any extra weight or cash on delivery fees. See The rate you pay. |
| Your own carrier account | What your contract with the carrier says |
| Local delivery | Your own delivery cost |
Set the minimum purchase amount high enough for your margin on those orders to cover the shipping cost.
Find your free shipping discounts
In Marketing > Discounts, a Free shipping badge appears beside the value of every discount that includes free shipping. To list only them, filter by Included free shipping. See Discount codes and coupons.
