Activate Tabby
Tabby lets your customers split a purchase into four interest-free payments while Tabby pays you the full amount upfront. You turn it on from Payments > BNPL > Tabby: ask Zid to open a Tabby business account for you, or link the one you already have.
Tabby needs a Zid plan that includes installment services. Otherwise Activate on the Tabby card opens an upgrade dialog. To reach the Payments page you need the staff permission to view or manage payment options. Requesting an account through Zid is available to stores in Saudi Arabia only.
What your customers get
At checkout, the customer chooses Tabby, pays a quarter of the total and pays the rest over the next three months, with no interest or fees. Tabby carries the risk of a customer not paying: it pays your store either way.
Tabby works alongside Zid Payments or any other payment gateway, so you can offer it with your card payments.
Open Tabby's page
Go to Payments.
In the BNPL card, find Tabby. It shows Activated or Not activated.
Select Activate.
The Tabby details page opens. Under Tabby's description it has three tabs:
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Overview | How Tabby works for merchants and a link to Tabby's business help center |
| FAQ | Tabby's answers on fees, payouts, refunds, the cards customers can use and how long setup takes |
| Contact | Tabby's support details |
Below them, the Activation card is where you request or link your account.
Choose how to activate
In Saudi Arabia, the Activation card asks you to Select how to activate with Tabby:
Submit a business account opening request: Zid requests a Tabby account for you. See Request a Tabby account through Zid.
I have a Tabby business account already: you enter the keys from your Tabby account. See Link your Tabby account.
Stores outside Saudi Arabia see the key form directly: sign up with Tabby from the link in Overview, then link your account.
Request a Tabby account through Zid
Under Activation, choose Submit a business account opening request.
Enter your Freelancer Key if your account is registered to an individual, or your Unified National Number (700) if it is registered to a business. Zid shows the field that matches your account.
Select Activate. Zid sends the request with the latest Saudi bank account you added. If you have none, a dialog asks you to add one first.
An alert at the top of the Activation card follows your request:
| Alert | What it means |
|---|---|
| We’ll automatically request the account for you | You haven't sent a request yet |
| Your request has been submitted successfully and will be reviewed. | Tabby is reviewing your request and contacts you by email. You can't send another request meanwhile |
| Your request has been approved by Tabby. | Sign in to your Tabby dashboard, copy your integration keys and enter them in the form under the alert, as in the next section |
| Your request was not approved. | Tabby could not approve the request under its eligibility criteria |
The Freelancer Key is the number on your freelance certificate. See Get a freelance certificate.
Link your Tabby account
Use this when you already have a Tabby business account, or when Tabby has approved the request Zid sent for you.
Under Activation, choose I have a Tabby business account already. After an approved request, the form is already under the alert.
Fill in the form:
Field What to enter Public key The public key from your Tabby dashboard. Required Secret key The secret key from your Tabby dashboard. Required Show Tabby in product page Tick to show Tabby on your store's product pages, so customers see it before checkout Show Tabby in cart page Tick to show Tabby on the cart page Enabled Tick to offer Tabby at checkout Select Save.

Once saved with Enabled ticked, the Tabby card under BNPL shows Activated and customers see Tabby at checkout.
Turn Tabby off
Go to Payments and select Activate on the Tabby card.
Clear Enabled and select Save.
Tabby leaves your checkout and the card shows Not activated. Your keys stay in the form, so you can tick Enabled again later. To hide Tabby only on product or cart pages, clear that option instead.
Orders paid with Tabby
Order page: the payment card shows 4 interest-free with tabby payments, and the invoice shows the same payment method.
Orders list: filter by Payment method > Tabby to see these orders. See Manage orders.
Refunds: Tabby payments don't go through Zid Payments. Once the order is paid and Tabby allows a refund, a Refund button appears on the order's payment card. See Refund a payment.
Editing: when you remove products from a Tabby order, refund the difference with Refund. You can't add products that raise the order above its original total. See Edit an order.
Payment links: once Tabby is active, you can offer it on the payment links you send. See Payment links.
Take Tabby payments in Zid POS
In ZidPOS, the cashier chooses Tabby, sends the customer a payment link by text message, and completes the sale once the customer pays. Your Tabby account must be active first. See Pay with Tabby.
Get help with Tabby
The Contact tab on the Tabby page lists Tabby's support: its website, the partner and help email addresses and its phone number. Questions about your Tabby account, payouts or approval go to Tabby. For anything in your Zid dashboard, contact Zid support.
