Use the ZidPOS app
The ZidPOS app is where your cashiers sell in your branches: they open a session, add products to an invoice, take payment and print or send the invoice. Products, stock, payment methods, discount codes and invoice templates come from your dashboard, and every sale reaches Channels > POS and your orders list. This page walks through the main tasks in the app. The screenshots show the app in Arabic, and its screens can change with updates, so the steps describe what to look for rather than exact button names.
Many of these tasks are part of POS Pro only, such as staff accounts, sessions, delivery and gift orders, discount codes, card terminals and hardware. POS Go covers pickup sales from the owner account with cash, Tabby, Tamara and payment links. See Compare POS Go and POS Pro.
Install the app
Install ZidPOS from Google Play or the App Store, or on an iMin device. The links are under Download Zid POS app on the POS introduction page, and in the Your POS is now active dialog after you activate POS Go. The app works in Arabic and English.
Keep the device connected to the internet while you sell, so sales, stock and payments reach your dashboard. The app's side menu shows whether it's online. You can't complete sales without a connection, but you can still browse products and hold invoices until it's back.
Sign in to the app
Open the app and sign in to your store with an email and password. Switch the app's language from the sign-in screen if you need to.
The store owner uses the email and password of their Zid account.
A staff member uses the email saved for them on the team page and the password from their invitation email. The email also holds their four-digit POS passcode, and asks them to change the password from their account settings after they sign in.

A staff member's invitation email holds their password and their POS passcode:

Choose the cashier, the license assigned to the branch you're in. An available cashier shows its license reference.

Choose the inventory location to sell from. The app shows that location's products and quantities.

Enter your passcode, the four-digit code that identifies you on that cashier. The screen shows the city and location you picked. If a staff member you just added isn't recognized, use the refresh users option at the bottom of the screen.

If you forget a passcode:
The owner sets a new one in Change POS passcode. See Account settings.

Sample data from a demo store. For a staff member, go to Settings > Store > Team and open the member. Select the eye icon in Password to show their passcode, or select the refresh icon to generate a new one, then Save. See Give your staff access to the ZidPOS app.
Open and close a session
On POS Pro, a cashier opens a session before selling, and the session collects that shift's sales.
Start a session from the app's side menu.
Enter the cash already in the drawer, if any, and start the session. You can now sell and issue invoices.

At the end of the shift, end the session from the same side menu.

Enter the cash and card amounts you counted. Under each field, the app shows the amount it expects. Add a note if something needs explaining, and confirm.

The app compares your amounts with what it expected. Each session then appears in Sessions history in POS reports, marked Balanced or Unbalanced.
Make a sale
Add products to the invoice: tap a product, search by name or SKU, or scan its barcode. Filter the products by category to find them faster. Each product shows its price and the quantity in your location, in red when it's out of stock.

Optionally, add the customer, so the sale is linked to their profile, and a note.
Go to pay the invoice and choose how the customer gets the order: pickup in store, or delivery on POS Pro.

Choose the payment method and take the payment. On POS Pro, you can split the amount across several methods.
Share the invoice: print it or send it by SMS on POS Pro, or share it by NFC.
A pickup sale gets the status you chose in Default status for POS pickup orders. See POS settings.
On POS Pro, you can also hold an invoice to finish it later, and earn or redeem loyalty points for the customer. The payment screen shows the points the customer can earn on the invoice.
Deliver an order to the customer
On POS Pro, a cashier can sell an order for delivery to the customer's address.
Make sure a session is open. See Open and close a session.
Add the products and go to pay the invoice.

Choose delivery in the transaction options.

Add the customer by their mobile number.

Select add address. The panel lists the customer's saved addresses, with an option to add a new one.

Fill in the address: country, city, district and street.

For an address in Saudi Arabia, a short national address field appears. Enter the customer's short national address and use auto-fill to complete the rest, or fill in the fields yourself. Then add the address.

Select the address you added.

Choose the shipping method and the payment method, then complete the order.

The order uses the shipping options active in your store and appears in your orders list, where you ship it like any other order.
Send an order as a gift
On POS Pro, a customer can buy an order in the branch and have it delivered to someone else as a gift.
Add the products, go to pay the invoice and choose delivery.

Turn on the gift option, then add the sender's and the recipient's details and the recipient's address.

Choose the shipping method. The panel lists your active shipping options with their delivery time.

Continue to payment and choose the payment method.

Pay the invoice. After payment, print the invoice or send it to the customer's phone by SMS.

Check stock and order from another location
Select a product to see whether it's available in the location you sell from. When it isn't, a message under the product says so and that the customer can order it online from other branches.

On POS Pro, you can search your other inventory locations for the product, with the quantity each one has.

When the customer wants a product that another location has, a cashier on POS Pro can create an order from that location:
On the products screen, choose to order from the store.

Pick the inventory location to order from.

Add the products. The location you picked shows at the top of the screen, where you can change it.

Go to pay, add the customer's mobile number and address, and choose the shipping option and the payment method. Store orders can also use payment methods such as cash on delivery or bank transfer, when they're active in your store.

Pay the invoice. A message confirms that the transaction was completed.

The quantity comes out of the location you picked, the order reaches that location for preparation, whether it's handled from the dashboard or a cashier app there, and the sale is recorded under the cashier user who made it, in their session and the day's report.
Change a price at checkout
You can give a customer a different price for a product, for example for an offer, or raise or lower it.
On the payment screen, select the edit icon above the invoice's product list. The edit products panel opens.

Enter the new unit price for the product. The panel shows the original price crossed out and works out the discount percentage. Select the reset icon to go back to the original price.
Apply the change.

The order details show that the price was changed, so you can follow these sales later.
Apply a discount code
First, make the code available at your points of sale. See Offer discount codes at the POS. Then, while taking payment:
Choose to add a discount.

Pick the code from the quick discount list, or type it in the discount code field.

Add it, and check that the total now includes the discount.

To remove the code, select the ✕ next to it.
Take payment with Tabby or Tamara
Your store needs an active Tabby or Tamara account first. See BNPL services. The cashier sends the customer a payment link, and the customer pays in installments on the provider's page:
Choose Tabby or Tamara as the payment method.
Enter the customer's mobile number and name, and their email if they want, then send the message.
The customer receives a message with a link, confirms their mobile number with the code sent to them, and pays the first installment on the payment page.
Until the customer pays, the sale waits on the app's pending sales screen. Once they pay, open the sale there: the app shows that the payment succeeded, and you complete the sale to create the order.
Pay with Tamara
On the payment screen, choose Tamara. Enter the customer's mobile number and name, and their email if they want, then send the message.

The sale appears on the pending sales screen with the payment status pending until the customer pays.

The customer receives a text message from Tamara with the order amount and a payment link.

On Tamara's page, the customer confirms their mobile number with the code sent to them.

The customer picks a plan, such as splitting the invoice into up to four interest-free payments, or paying the full amount now, and pays.

Tamara shows that the payment succeeded.

In ZidPOS, open the sale from the pending sales screen. The panel shows that the payment succeeded, at step 3 of 3. Complete the sale.

Pay with Tabby
On the payment screen, choose Tabby. Enter the customer's mobile number and name, and their email if they want, then send the message. The sale waits on the pending sales screen, as with Tamara.

The customer receives a text message with a Tabby link to complete the purchase.

The customer enters the four-digit code sent to their mobile, accepts Tabby's terms and continues.

After paying, the customer sees that the payment succeeded and waits to be redirected.

In ZidPOS, open the sale from the pending sales screen and complete it, as in the last Tamara step.
Return items
Open the sales screen in the app and find the sale. Search by invoice number, order number or the customer's mobile number.

Choose the return icon in the sale's row.
Select the products to return: turn on all products, or tick each product and set the quantity to return. Check the totals and confirm the return.

Print or send the return invoice.

The refund appears in POS transactions as Refunded or Partially refunded. On POS Pro, customers can also return in store an order they bought online. Otherwise, handle returns of online orders from the order in your dashboard by changing its status to a return status. See Returns and refunds.
Connect a barcode scanner or printer
On POS Pro:
Open the app's settings and choose the hardware connection.

Choose the receipt printer or the barcode scanner. The screen says when no device is connected yet.

Pick the device type and how it connects, by Bluetooth, wireless or a USB hub, then continue.

Connect a payment terminal
On POS Pro, card payments can run through a payment terminal on the same Wi-Fi network as the app. The app sends the amount to the terminal, the customer pays on it, and the terminal returns the result to the app, so the payment is recorded with the sale and in your POS reports.
Before you start:
Terminal connection works with SurePay terminals.
Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network at your branch.
You need a connection code from Zid. Open a support ticket to ask for it.
There are two setups. With a separate terminal (hard POS), any tablet can run ZidPOS. With an all-in-one device that takes cards itself (soft POS), the device needs Android 13, an 8-core 2.2 GHz processor, 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, a 15.6-inch screen and a 10.1-inch customer screen with licensed NFC. Without NFC, soft POS doesn't work. Install ZidPOS on the device, then contact Zid to set it up.
To connect a separate terminal:
On the terminal, open the network settings and select the Wi-Fi network. Under the advanced options, note the IP address and the gateway.
Select the pencil icon at the top of the screen to edit the network. Under the IP settings, change the setting from dynamic to static, enter the same IP address and gateway, and save.
Open the mada app on the terminal and go to the merchant settings, with the password SurePay gave you. In the integration settings, choose TCP. Note the TCP port it shows and confirm. The terminal restarts.
In ZidPOS, open the settings and choose to connect a payment device.
Enter the code from Zid and continue, then enter the terminal's IP address and TCP port, and connect. A message confirms the connection.
Run a test purchase to check the connection.
Keep the app in sync
The app syncs your products, payment methods and other store data from the dashboard. If a change doesn't show, sync it from the app's settings:
Open the app's settings and choose data sync.
Find the data to refresh: categories, products or payment methods. Each card shows when it was last updated and how many items the app has.
Select sync on that card. Syncing can take two to five minutes, depending on how many products you have.

See When a change doesn't appear in the app.
