Move your store from Salla to Zid
This page walks you through moving a store from Salla to Zid: what to prepare, how to bring over your products, customers and reviews, and what to set up before you point your domain to Zid. For a move from any other platform, see Move your store to Zid.
Before you start
Create your Zid store and choose a plan. When registration asks Selling on another platform?, answer Yes, then choose Salla under Which platform?. The first card of your setup checklist becomes Import Your Products & Customers. See Sign in and create your store.
Keep your Salla store open until your Zid store is ready and your domain points to Zid, so customers can still order and you can go back to your old data.
Gather what the move needs: your product and customer files, your product images, your domain's sign-in details at the company you bought it from, and your business documents for Zid Payments.
Write down the links of your products, categories and pages in your Salla store. You need them to redirect old links later.
Export your data from Salla
Salla lets you export your products and your customers as spreadsheet files (Excel or CSV). Export both from your Salla dashboard and save the files on your computer. If you're not sure where the export is, check Salla's own help pages.
You don't upload these files to Zid as they are. Either give the products file to the Zid AI app, which converts it for you, or copy its data into Zid's import templates.
Move your products with Zid AI
The Zid AI app has a data mover that converts a Salla products file into Zid products. The app is free and made by Zid.
Install the Zid AI app from the App market, then open it from Zid AI > Tools Studio in the top bar.
Open the data mover and choose Salla as the platform you're moving from.

Personal details are covered. Upload your Salla products file, as a CSV or XLSX file of up to 20 MB.
Check the preview, complete missing fields with AI if you need to, then upload the products to your store.
The free move covers up to 500 products. To move more, request the store moving service from the link in the tool. The data mover can also move your orders. See Move your products from another platform.
Import your products from a file
If you prefer to prepare the file yourself, use Zid's product import template:
Go to Products > All products, open the ⋮ menu and select Import products.
Keep Import new products selected, and under Prepare import file select Download next to the template you want: essential product information, or all product information.
Copy your Salla data into the template, column by column, as described below.
Under Upload import file, select Upload, choose the file and select Import.

When you copy your data into the template:
| What to check | How to fill it in |
|---|---|
| File type | Save the template as .xlsx or .csv. Keep its column headers as they are, and delete the example products before you import. |
| Required data | Every new product needs its Arabic name, price, quantity, and the publishing, tax exemption, shipping and has-options columns. |
| SKU | Give every product its own SKU, using letters and numbers. |
| Prices | Enter prices, sale prices, costs and weights as numbers only, without units or currency. |
| Quantities | Write whole numbers. For unlimited stock, write infinite. |
| Yes or no | Answer the yes-or-no columns, such as publishing, tax exemption and shipping, with yes or no. |
| Categories | Separate several categories with commas, for example "Bags, School bags". |
| Options | For a product with options, such as size or color, fill in each option's name and value in Arabic and in English. See Product options and variants. |
| Images | The template takes image links, not image files. Each link must open in a browser without signing in. If your images are only on your computer, upload them first to a file hosting service, such as Google Drive or Dropbox, and share them so anyone with the link can view them. |
If some rows fail, the dialog lists the errors, such as the SKU and the problem. Fix those rows and import the file again. For every column and import type, see Import and export products.
Import your customers
Go to Customers > All customers, open the More menu (⋮) at the top of the list and select Import customers.
Under step 1, select Download to get the template, and copy your Salla customers into it, one per row.
Under step 2, select Upload and choose your file (
.xlsxor.csv).Select Import.

Keep the template's column headers as they are. Name, Phone and Type are required for every customer:
Phone: the mobile number with the country code and without a plus sign, such as
966500000001. Customers sign in to a Zid store with their mobile number and a verification code by default, so a correct number lets them reach their account without a password.Type:
individualorbusiness.Optional columns include Email, Gender, Birthdate (such as
1994-10-22), Tags, Points, Wallet Balance and Customer City.
If a row fails, the dialog names the row and the reason, such as an invalid mobile number. See Import customers from a file.
You can also import products and customers together from the Import Your Products & Customers card on the home page. See Set up your store.
Import your product reviews
To keep the reviews your products earned on Salla, put them in Zid's reviews template:
Go to Customers > Reviews, open the More menu (⋮) and select Import.
Under Download template, select Download, and fill in your reviews.
Under Upload file, select Upload, choose your file (
.xlsxor.csv) and select Import.
Import your reviews after your products, since each review belongs to a product. See Import reviews.
Set up payments
Activate Zid Payments so customers can pay by mada, Visa, Mastercard and Apple Pay. Go to Payments, select Activate online payments in the All Networks card and complete the form. Zid reviews your business documents first, so prepare them early. See Activate Zid Payments and Get your IBAN certificate from your bank.
You can also connect another payment provider. See Payment methods and Zid Payments and BNPL and other payment providers.
Set up shipping
Choose how you deliver orders: Zid Ship's carriers under one Zid agreement, your own contract with a shipping company, other integrated providers, local delivery or pickup in store. See Shipping and delivery.
Set up taxes
If you charge VAT, turn it on in Settings > General > Tax settings and add your VAT number. Set Are the prices of your products inclusive of VAT? to match the prices you imported, so your customers pay the same totals as before. See VAT settings.
Design your store
Choose a theme and customize its colors, fonts and sections in the theme editor. Add your logo and the pages your Salla store had, such as your return policy. See Store themes, Theme editor and Legal pages.
Move your domain
When your store is ready, point your domain to Zid:
You bought the domain yourself: in Zid, go to Settings > Store > Domains list, select Link existing domain and enter your domain. Then replace the domain's nameservers at the company you bought it from with the two that Zid shows, and select Verify. Nameserver changes can take up to 72 hours to reach everywhere.
Salla registered the domain for you: ask Salla to transfer it to your name first, then link it as above.
You use email on your domain: once the domain is linked, check its DNS settings in Zid and add the records your email service needs.

Redirect your old Salla links
Your products, categories and pages have new links on Zid. Customers who saved an old link, and search engines that list it, would reach a "page not found" error. Redirect each old link to its new page in Settings > URL redirects:
Match each old link from the list you saved to the page that replaces it in your Zid store.
Enter only the part after your store address. For example, for
https://yourstore.com/old-product-link, enter/old-product-link.Add redirects one at a time with Create New Link, or many at once: open the ⋮ menu next to Export Links, choose Import Links, download the template, fill in one redirect per row and upload it.

A redirect works only when the old link leads to a "page not found" error in your Zid store, which is the case for old Salla links once your domain points to Zid. Zid's redirects are permanent (301) redirects, so search engines move your old pages' place in results to the new ones. See URL redirects.
URL redirects are available on plans that include them. On other plans the page shows the plan that adds the feature.
Tell your customers
Let your customers know the store has moved, so they aren't surprised by a new checkout or sign-in:
Announce the move on your social media accounts and in your Salla store before you switch the domain.
Send an SMS or WhatsApp campaign to the customers you imported. See Marketing campaigns.
Explain that they sign in to your new store with their mobile number and a verification code.
